Although it is the weekend, I believe it’s good to be productive and get some work done.

Some of you might know that I have been working on developing a podcast. I just wanted to take a minute to extend an open invitation to my Instagram followers to apply to join me for an episode of Fez and Friends.

While a lot of the topics I discuss with my peers are political in nature, the goal of this show is not to be a political podcast.

My mission with Fez and Friends is to highlight the different experiences and worldviews that people, both in the United States and across the world, have in their individual lives.

Lately, it’s been seeming as if my instagram posts have been censored for reasons that I can’t comprehend.

Those who know me are well aware that I love expressing myself by singing songs that I cherish and enjoy.

I’m happy to be able to express myself in the way I enjoy expressing myself, but am always dismayed by the lengths that the government will go to silence free speech.

I’ve taken a lot of steps to clarify my rhetoric, but I still strongly believe in our first amendment rights to free speech. I strongly believe that nefarious actors who exploit free speech rights (in this case, I am referring to the President of the United States, to be specific) should be held accountable regardless of partisanship or other biases.

A high school teacher should not be held accountable to a higher degree of responsibility than the President of the United States.

As has been clear for a lifetime, I strongly support Democratic principles. I’m a strong supporter of Senator Bernie Sanders and democracy as a whole. I am not a supporter of imperialism and disparaging acts of violence.

I applaud for his work in ending the war in Afghanistan and I’m looking forward to future actions such as the demilitarization of our police force, cuts to military and police budgets across the country, and other progressive values including cancelling student loan debt and making public colleges tuition free.

Also, please stop using ma*****na as a carte blanche excuse to incarcerate minorities, as your history in elected office clearly indicates.

The media has been extremely confusing to me lately.

Misinformation, granted some that I may have inadvertently perpetuated but I believe are entirely unsubstantiated and abhorrent, is a catastrophic problem for our society.

I share music that I enjoy because it’s music that inspires me.

I have never in my life claimed to have written these songs by award winning artists. And if you’d asked about how I was doing financially, or just generally any questions, I think any speculation otherwise would have been quashed immediately.

It is sad that our news is run not by facts, but culture war and rumors.

I’ve been doing my best to stay close to the ground and learn as much as I can about all sorts of different diverse communities and how best to serve as an effective leader. I have no intentions of running for office at this present moment. I would love to bring in a new generation of artists and activists to help us continue having dialogue using art in order to move humanity forward.

We are better together. It’s not about me. It’s not about my name. You can call me whatever you’d like. I just want you to listen to the truth.

Don’t get lost in the art, focus on the parts that are relevant to your own individual missions.

The way I see it is that one of the biggest problems in government is not that we do not have the money to make change, but it’s that we don’t have the right priorities in mind.

We should be talking about Build Back Better. We should talk about investing in higher education. We should be talking about giving opportunities to middle America and the forgotten cities. We should expand access to high speed internet so everyone can be plugged in to the Information Age.

We can make this country better. But we have to do our part. Look from within. Look up. Help your brothers and sisters. Help your neighbors. Help your strangers.

We don’t have time. Climate change is upon us. We are facing existential crises at a magnitude that is unprecedented.

Just freaking look up. Do your part. Enjoy every moment. And radiate positivity.

There are brighter days ahead. Always.

Have I considered revenue mechanisms? Yes. But my initial intention is not to generate profit, but rather to combat misinformation by having informed conversations with people that have inspired me and hold positions of influence.

I want to build an audience of engaged viewers and help them see the struggles that exist in this country.

Hey friends! Just starting a brand new segment for the podcast where I share a little bit about what I am thinking about each week. This week, I was interested in the overblown conversation over Spotify's decision to keep Joe Rogan while artist Neil Young removed his music from their platform in protest. I drew some comparisons to the dystopian world of 1984 and the implications this conversation has on free speech. Additionally, I talked about the bridge collapse in Pittsburgh and how that could have been a force to reignite the conversation behind the Build Back Better bill that was killed by Joe Manchin. I also briefly talked about social media and introduced some of our upcoming guests and highlighted some concerns that I had as we approach the midterm elections. Hope you enjoy!
