Blessed & Honored--it's been a busy month of lectures on Breast Cancer and exhibitions of the Breast Cancer Mermaid Art Collection. I'm so proud of all the artists who participated in this Historical View on breast cancer. Additionally, I received the Latina of Influence Award on October 23. But that's not all. On Friday, I discovered that my Breast Cancer Comedy Routine WON REGIONALS in the Veterans Creative Arts Festival. (Yep, I'm a proud veteran too.) My comedy routine has been sent to the national level of the competition for review. I'm so psyched! This award heralds the start of our new program at Cancer Tamer Foundation, "Heal thru Laughter."
Our Breast Cancer Comedy Program is taught by professional comedians and is FREE to women with breast cancer. Classes are conducted thru Zoom. We plan to perform a Gala Fundraiser in October 2025 where participants of the program will share the stage with professional comedians. If you know a woman with breast cancer (at any stage/recovery) and/or are a comedian who would like to volunteer to become one of our instructors, please contact us. Just had the BEST day at Manchester Pride on the Prevent Breast Cancer float, shouting at people to ! Even though we’ve been at it since early this morning, my sore throat (from singing) and tired feet (from dancing) tell me it’s been brilliant. Loved my first ambassador gig and love Tom for supporting it 🥰
