There's no time like the present. My WWJ Newsradio 950 colleagues and I just received word today that we won our SECOND STRAIGHT Regional Edward R. Murrow Award!

One was for Breaking News for the flooding at Detroit Metro Airport.

Another for Newscast- the morning after the MSU shooting.

We also won a THIRD AWARD for overall excellence!

Here is the link to the official announcement: https://www.rtdna.org/news/rtdna-announces-2024-region-7-edward-r-murrow-award-winners

These awards, on top of the one I won from the MAB - Michigan Association of Broadcasters, are a wonderful way to reflect back on the work it took to get here. I am so proud and thankful.

Not my time but God's time. 🙏🏾🎤🎬🏆

Casting Call for Atlanta-based talent! 🎬🎥

Indie filmmaker Antoine Dillard, an I See You Awards winner, is preparing to shoot his next film and is looking for talent in the Atlanta area. He's looking to fill two roles: a woman (who is a Jessica Rabbit type) and a male. The only requirements he mentioned are that talent needs to be over 18 and will have to supply their own wardrobe.

If interested, send an email to [email protected].

FYI: roles are unpaid, however, IMDb credit will be given and film will be submitted to film festivals globally.

Good luck and tell him the I See You Awards sent you!

Now that I'm back from my whirlwind trip to LA with Amazon Studios, MGM Studios and Orion Pictures , I wanted to share my report as heard live on WWJ Newsradio 950 during the AM Drive show with Jackie Paige and Jonathan Carlson. We talked about the super fun press conference for AIR, including a discussion with Ben Affleck, Jason Bateman, Viola Davis, Julius Tennon and Marlon Wayans.

We also talked about one of my other favorite films from 2023: A Million Miles Away. Lead Actor Michael Pena discussed his role, and Co-writer/Director Alejandra Marquez Abella discussed the process of making the film; everything from pre-production to post production.

The full slate of events also included press conferences, discussions, receptions and more for the movies American Fiction, Cassandro and Saltburn.

This is one trip that'll stay with me for a lifetime. Here's the link to my report:

We’re celebrating the holiday by watching - actually rewatching - two of our favorite Thanksgiving movies!

One of Terri’s is a holiday classic and one of Dexter’s is from indie filmmaker David Paulus.

Recognizing & Rewarding Low-Budget Indie Filmmakers

The I See You Awards® were created to recognize and reward the accomplishments of low-budget independent filmmakers. The awards were created by Terri Lee Chandler, the film critic for WWJ Newsradio 950. Terri is also an indie filmmaker herself, so she knows firsthand the challenges indie filmmakers face when working to take their projects from script to screen.
