VAAG is the artist name of producer Marc Brinkerink (NL) and translates from Dutch to English as 'unclear, vague, no frames, no boundaries....no direction'. His latest release 'Perfect Imperfection' on the label Point Source Electronic Arts has been discribed by Igloo Magazine as "Skittering, tumbling beats slip and slide past each other, narrowly avoiding collision in an erratic but choreographed dance. Strange, warbling melodies and crackling electrical discharges fill the air with a palpable energy. Somehow all these broken pieces fit together with an odd sort of cohesion. It’s wrong in all the right ways, perfectly imperfect."

Once again it is our great pleasure to announce an outstanding new album of experimental electronics: Qurv Trysr by MTCH.

It is the sound of crackling electrons burning winding pathways through broken logic circuits, the dry sizzle of overclocked and overheated chips streaming torrents of corrupted data, fragmented and nearly incomprehensible. Popping transistors emit tiny plumes of acrid smoke, condensing into a thin fog of ozone permeating everything. The surviving bits and bytes collate and render, revealing the order and structure interlaced within.

Igloo Magazine calls it "a sort of communication, an unknown technology emitting shattered bits of unsorted information..."

Electronic musicians create with many tools, and one of the most versatile among them is sampling. Like spliced genes in a laboratory, sampled sounds can be rearranged and mutated, giving rise to entirely novel and unexpected compositions.

Every year, we invite our friends in the community to join us in our ongoing musical experiment, Genome. The songs heard here are all derived from a provided set of samples, sharing a common sonic lineage but each emerging as something new and unique.
