On 21 November, a Philippine Airlines Boeing 777-300 (RP-C775) operated flight PR113 between Los Angeles, United States and Manila, Philippines. Just after take-off, the right hand engine suffered an engine failure (most likely a compressor stall). The aircraft headed back to Los Angeles and safely landed just under 15 minutes after its initial departure, emergency services awaited the aircraft but were released shortly after.

Edith Rodriguez is used to seeing tourists in her hometown of El Nido, Palawan, so one Caucasian man entering and singing at a local karaoke bar was nothing out of the ordinary for her.

But Rodriguez couldn’t help but become “hysterical” when she recognized the man as Ben Adams of the British boy band A1. It helped that Adams picked to sing “Like A Rose,” one of his group’s biggest hits.
