This year we kept it simple - ordered takeout, made some crafts and celebrated the new year on bed with TV! And because we celebrated in Mountain Standard Time, we let the kids stay up until midnight. Rosie barely made it, Jordan as usual still had so much energy 😅

Someone keeps taking home stuff that’s not art work 🦠

Fall used to be my favorite season, until the kids started school and now I dread it and cannot wait for it to be done. Apparently there’s a lot of pneumonia cases recently, thankfully this guy is on the clear and it’s just another virus 🤧

If you’re looking for a fun, short hike with littles then this trail is for you! It’s been in our list for a while, and it’s quite a drive from Vancouver but only a little farther from Cultus Lake if you’re already there.

Lots of parking, terrain was mostly flat and wagon/jogging stroller friendly. Don’t forget to bring flash lights for the little ones so they can explore the tunnel!

With back to school in full gear, did you know that 80% of a child’s learning is based on vision?

And if vision problems are left untreated, a kid’s potential may be lagging behind in learning. Off to spend some quality time with grandparents ✈️

You think flying often makes it easier, but really it’s all like a lottery. As much as I prepare, there’s always that chance of a tantrum and yesterday was one of those. Jordan hit, bit, scratched, and kicked with all his might all because he didn’t feel like giving up his tray table and putting on his seatbelt during takeoff. Then as I held him down so we wouldn’t get escorted out of the plane, he screamed “you’re hurting me” and “you’re not listening to me”. I guess we’re not quite ready for those long haul flights yet 😰

Moral of the story, be prepared but still expect the worst. And during those times when all hell is breaking loose, the one thing you should care the least about is what other people think. It too will pass, and everyone moves on 🫠

Finally, two kids on the same class time 🙌🏻

Jordan’s finally old enough for some independent classes! They’re obviously on different levels but at least I found the same class time for both kids, making life a little easier for this mama. Hopefully we can also find some skating classes with the same class time on the fall. And if you guys recommend any other classes that can do the same I would love to know!

On that note, also realizing my baby is now a big boy 🥺
