Prince Abdulaziz is a 147 metre yacht built in 1984, making it the largest yacht built in the 20th Century.

Indeed, Prince Abdulaziz held the crown the for world's largest yacht until it was outstripped by Dubai (also listed) in 2006.

As one of the yachts of the Saudi Royal Family, Prince Abdulaziz is used to conduct official business as well as for pleasure. The interior alone took 15 months to complete. Originally built for the late King Fahd of Saudi Arabia who named the yacht after his son, it is now owned by his brother Abddullah.

Prince Abdullaziz was custom built by Helsingor Vaerft; one of Denmark's largest shipyards dating back to the late 19th Century, until their close in the 1980s due to increased competition from new foreign arrivals.

This mega-yacht also features interior design by the late David Hicks, an English interior decorator and designer whose distinct use of bold colours, lighting and combination of modern and classical features earned him a distinguishable reputation in many countries around the world during his lifetime.

A+

MOTOR YACHT
At an incredible 147.25 metres in length, it is no surprise that A+ (formerly named Topaz), a 2012 launch by German yacht-building giant Lurssen, ranks strongly in the Top 10 largest yachts in the world.

She features magnificent Disdale exterior designing and exquisite interiors crafted by the celebrated Tim Heywood Design, and at her time of building in 2012 was forecast to be 4th largest superyacht in the world.

She can house an incredible 62 guests and up to 79 crew members in her substantial accommodation. Perhaps unsurprisingly, A+ took 4 years to build and is reported to have cost over £400 million.

Her cruising speed is 19.5 knots, reaching a max of 22 knots - an impressive figure for a boat of her size.

Despite flying a Cayman Island flag, A+ belongs to Manchester City Football Club owner Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed al Nahnan - Emirati royalty and deputy prime minister of the UAE.

Like most royally-owned superyachts, not much is known for certain about A+ other than her basic specifications; although what is known for sure, is that this megayacht has well earned her spot as 7th largest yacht in the world.

Dilbar

MOTOR YACHT
Originally known as "Project Omar", the 156 metre superyacht Dilbar was launched in 2016 after over 4 years of construction.

According to her German builder Lurssen's description, Dilbar is one of the most complex and challenging yachts ever built, in terms of both dimensions and technology.

At 15,917 tons, the 156-meter superyacht features entertainment and recreation spaces never before seen on a yacht. These include a 25-meter swimming pool that holds an incredible 180 m³ of water, the largest pool ever to have been installed on a yacht.

The exterior design, a classic profile with a light ivory hull and bronze accents, was developed by Espen Øino International. Her spectacular interior, created by the Winch Design team, uses rare and exclusive luxury materials.

Domus

Named after the single-story abodes found primarily in ancient Rome and Pompeii, Domus sports a distinctive shape that results in an inordinate amount of real estate on board. Penned in partnership with Rob Doyle Design, the 130-footer claims to have double the interior space of a catamaran of the same size and all the comfort of a superyacht.

Like its namesake, the vessel is centered around a striking atrium that connects the separate areas. Spanning just shy of 8,500 square feet, the interior is split between two decks and offers six spacious guest cabins, including not one but two owner’s suites with adjoining lounges. Elsewhere, you’ll find a cinema, gym, saloon, bar and a swimming pool. Of course, there’s also a spa so you can relax like a real Roman.

Dubai

MOTOR YACHT
Launched in 2006 by Platinum Yachts, Dubai is the world’s second largest private yacht, measuring 162 metres. Dubai’s incredible size is disguised by the elegant lines of her steel hull and aluminium superstructure – the work of renowned designer Andrew Winch. Her stunning interior was designed by Platinum Yachts.

The construction of this megayacht began for Prince Jefri Bolkiah of Brunei more than 10 years before the yacht’s launch. The construction, then a joint project between Blohm + Voss and Lurssen shipyards, was halted until 2001 when the hull was acquired by Platinum Yachts for His Highness Sheik Mohammed Rashid al-Maktoum. The project, previously named Platinum, Panhandle and Golden Star, was re-named Dubai. ⛴Like, Comment, Share⛴

Motor yacht Eclipse, completed at the end of 2010 at the Blohm + Voss Hamburg shipyard, features interiors by Terence Disdale Design and is the world’s second largest superyacht.

At her launch in 2010 the 164m Eclipse’s unprecedented size had ensured her construction had been shrouded in secrecy, and as such, subject to much rumour and speculation from both the international press and superyacht enthusiasts.

Although details of the luxury megayacht are being extremely well hidden, it is known that her interiors feature designs by the renowned London-based team at Terence Disdale Design.

Russian Billionaire Roman Abramovich is the owner of this giant yacht which is believed to accommodate 36 guests in 18 cabins and also cater for a staggering 70 crew members
