What was your favorite Star Wars movie or series?

Only a couple of episodes into the Fallout series on Amazon and I'm enjoying it quite a bit. For those that have watched it, do you feel this is a show that a person who has little to no understanding of the Fallout franchise could enjoy?

So EA is putting Battlefield 2042 on life support and the next looks like it may have a more focuses single player campaign. I will say I enjoyed BF2042 for a bit but when it was first announced, I was truly hoping for a BF 2142 remake but didn't get that.

I'm now hoping that the next game will either be 2142 (or similar with less geopolitics) or Bad Company 3.

Here's to hoping!

Last week, some game news media outlets have started reporting about a leak on Microsoft is planning to move Xbox Exclusives over to Sony and Nintendo and it has caused a bit of a stir with reports questioning if this is MS throwing in the towel on consoles (or even just backing away from it a little bit) and Microsoft is planning a *looks at notes* Pod....cast? And some upcoming business decisions to discuss this.

I, however, would like to point out that no one should be surprised about this.

Quote from Phil Spencer in 2020: “When you talk about Nintendo and Sony, we have a ton of respect for them, but we see Amazon and Google as the main competitors going forward,” he said. “That’s not to disrespect Nintendo and Sony, but the traditional gaming companies are somewhat out of position. I guess they could try to re-create Azure, but we’ve invested tens of billions of dollars in cloud over the years.”

He made it clear almost 4 years ago that Sony and Nintendo aren't their competition anymore. Amazon and Google are because they (MS, Amazon, and Google) see the future of gaming in Cloud gaming and, while it's not said, it's pretty implied, in subscription gaming (Game pass).

The Xbox is just to push the Game Pass service which is why they're pushing for driveless consoles. But the Game Pass service can be ANYWHERE. There was talks of it finding its way to Steam (but Valve will probably never go for it).

Microsoft isn't in the console business anymore (or mot as much as they used to be). They are in the gaming business and Sony is going to fall behind.

Xbox exclusives in a Sony machine is just proof of that and will earn MS the money they want.

Happy New Year! As we go into 2024, what was your favorite game that you played in 2023 and what are you looking forward to in 2024?

For me, Solasta took up most of my gaming time along with Battlefield 2042. Solasta is the DnD game that I've been looking for so that's my favorite for the year.

2024 will be seeing me getting into Baldur's Gate 3 which I've been waiting for now for a while. While they did change some of the ruleset to better fit their idea of a DnD game, I know I'll still enjoy it.
