The Government of Belize Press Office highlights the massive bounce back the shrimp industry is making in Belize.

*Corpral Elmer Nah Arraigned for New Year’s Eve double Murder* 39 year old Elmer Nah was arraigned at the Belmopan Magistrates court yesterday for the murder of Jon and David Ramnarace. Nah was charged with 2 counts of murder and with one count of attempted murder of Vivan Belisle Ramnarace, as well as deadly means of Harm and Dangerous Harm. Nah was denied bail and remanded to prison. He is expected to return to court on March 3rd 2023.

Tornado in Spanish Lookout, Cayo District

*Ella’s coolspot burns down in Hopkins Village* On Tuesday, June 21st,2022, at about 3:00 a.m., police responded to a report of a fire at Ella’s Cool Spot on Karuba South Front Street, Hopkins Village, Stann Creek District. Upon arrival, they observed the front portion of the establishment engulfed in flames. The fire was extinguished by personnel from the Fire Departmenr. The structure is a combination of wood, and thatch roofing, and measuring approximately 100ft x 20ft. Initial investigation revealed that Ella Carr, Belizean businesswoman of Hopkins Village, Stann Creek last had her business place open on Sunday,June 19th, 2022, around 10:00 p.m., and about 3:00 a.m., on Tuesday, June 21st, 2022, she was informed that her business was on fire. Carr reported that she last made checks on her business on Monday, June 20th, 2022, at around 9:00 p.m., and all was in order. The cause of the fire is unknown. The building and its contents were not insured. Police investigation continues. Video: attained from Hopkins Uncut

School brawl in Belize City The following video retrieved via Facebook captures the dangerous brawl between two female Belize City students in uniform. During the altercation one of the students can be seen withdrawing a sharp weapon of some sort, and using it to intentionally create a wound to the other female minor’s face. The young girl then begins to bleed as a result of her injury. No information has been revealed as yet in regards to the date of the altercation, and the person’s involved. No statement has been released as yet from the The ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Technology.

WOMAN DIES ON HUMMINGBIRD HIGHWAY Preliminary reports indicate that there has been one fatality as a result of an RTA on the humming bird highway near mile 3. according to sources a pickup truck has allegedly collided with a passenger bus.

19 Year old Chris Rodriguez was allegedly Stabbed to death at the Norman Broaster Stadium on May 3rd, 2022, by the football field’s caretaker 20 year old Fausto Teck. The stabbing was as a result of an altercation, due to Rodriguez allegedly not wanting to pay a fee to use the football field. Recent information reveals that the altercation may have been initiated by Rodriguez.
