HELP WANTED
No-Bias.org is a new internet website dedicated to a very simple concept: presenting the news in an unbiased manner, with no spin or coloration. Our goal is to become the gold standard of objective journalism and reportage by adhering to a few basic principles:
Complete objectivity: Any factual item we report will be verifiable. Spin is not going to be part of our vocabulary, and we will not take sides on any issue ... except, of course, in opinion pieces, which will be labeled quite clearly.
Balance: Our editorial page will host views from across the social, cultural, and political spectra. We will strive for equal representation as much as possible.
Local news: As we grow, we hope to incorporate local news into our offerings to fill the gap left by consolidation of local news outlets under large corporations (Sinclair Broadcasting, for example, has bought up most of the local outlets across the country). At this point we will be focusing attention on news pertinent to the Philadelphia, PA metro area, but the idea is that we will grow to encompass much more than that.
To that end, we are in need of the following:
Reporting: We need reporters who have the willingness and capability to track down news stories and gather as much information as possible to present a neutral and unbiased view of the stories of the day.
Marketing: We need people to help us get the word out, and to track down and sign up sponsors.
Web design: We need to get a web site built that will allow us to post content in a user-friendly format, similar in concept and navigational feel to sites like the Washington Post, the Wall Street Journal, or the New York Times.
At this point this is an all-volunteer effort. The goal is that, by the end of the year, we will be generating enough revenue to be able to pay for a regular full-time staff.
This is a great opportunity for people who want to get in at the beginning and build a news organization that excels where the other news outlets fall short. If you are interested in helping out -- even if it's just for a little while, although we hope you'll stick around to reap the rewards -- please contact us at [email protected].
Together we will change the face of journalism in the 21st century.
