The Labour Party candidate, Mr. Peter Obi has won in six of the eight local government areas declared by the electoral commission, INEC, in Plateau State. The Inspector General of Police, Mr. Baba Alkali on Saturday paid an inspection visit to the Minister's Gate Polling Unit to assess progress of the exercise. A good number of voters have been frustrated due to the slow style of voting occasioned by a single BVA at the polling unit. Speaking to reporters after conferring with polling officials, the IGP expressed pleasure at the peaceful way voters and INEC officials conducted themselves at the polling unit. The IGP was loudly applauded by the voters who appreciated him for "the good job so far".

Yakubu Despite the late arrival of officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, voter turnout at polling units in Mazamaza, Mosalashi in the Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area of Lagos State, was high. Frustrated hoards of voters were seen taking shelter under trees and shades of all kinds whilst waiting patiently to cast their votes....
