Today, my heart is heavy as I reflect on the passing of a friend and mentor. Life is so unfair sometimes, and the loss of such a bright light in this world is a stark reminder of that. The last time we spoke, she was full of happiness in Texas, her dream finally coming true.

Hermeyone worked tirelessly for her family, friends, and community, leaving behind a legacy of inspiration and determination. She was a fierce advocate for those in need, always providing safe spaces for care and support. Nobody fought harder for patients than she did, and her impact on the healthcare community will never be forgotten.

I will always cherish the memories of her kindness and compassion, and I am grateful for the ways she helped me and so many others grow in our practice. Let’s come together to remember all the amazing things she did for everyone, and honor her memory by continuing to spread love and support in her honor. Rest in peace, friend. You will be deeply missed. 🕊

As I sit here wrapping up my notes for the day, I am overwhelmed with a profound sense of gratitude. I am humbled by the trust that so many of you have placed in me, allowing me to be a part of your health and wellness journey.

I'm grateful for patients who have followed me to new practices because they trust me with their care. I've seen the relief in their eyes when their CD4 counts rise from below 200 to well above 500. But what often goes unnoticed is the courage it takes for them to walk through those doors in the first place. For them to get tested, to start treatment, and to choose to take control of their health while living with HIV.

The stigma surrounding HIV is real and it's heartbreaking. It's a battle that needs to be fought and won. There is absolutely no shame in living with HIV.

I feel privileged to be able to help those who are marginalized and stigmatized. It's my passion to stand with those who have been judged or discriminated against. Regardless of your status, gender, race, sexual orientation, or religion, you deserve equality, respect, and access to quality medical care.

On this World AIDS Day, I urge you all to get tested and educate yourselves. Let's break the stigma together. Let's create a world where everyone feels safe, accepted, and loved.
