Over the past few weeks, there have been moments where I struggled to have faith—but then was reminded (thank you mama) of the importance of having faith. 🥰

Faith is not a feeling! It’s a choice, and also a gift.

🩷 He [Jesus] replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” (Matthew 8:26)

🩷 To one there is given through the Spirit a message of wisdom … to another faith by the same Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:8-9)

Rather than force it, I drew near to God… and then nearer and nearer because there is nothing like filling up on God’s strength, wisdom, and love.

As I was getting ready this morning, I thought of how many parts of my life this season are answered prayers. Before moving to Toronto, I had so many hopes (and well as like a slow-burning faith that he would provide—he’s done it before 🙏). When it came to friends and community, I had some very specific requests down to personality traits, talents, location etc. And in this area, God has really—and very beautifully—provided. Sharing a few sweet memories from the past weeks (a women ministry event, an art show by a church friend, planned/spontaneous meals and hangs, etc.)

While we wait on answers to some prayers, may we remember areas of our lives that are already answered prayers. And may we keep praying!! Let us keep in relationship with God, chatting and pursuing him like we would a best friend or family member. He is Lord of all. Blessed are we to be able to call on him, rest in him, and *be* his.

God is alive! Praise him who is the great rock of protection. (Psalm 18:46)

The Lord reigns, let the nations tremble. Let them praise your great and awesome name—he is holy. The King is mighty, he loves justice— you have established equity. Exalt the Lord our God and worship at his footstool; he is holy. (see Psalm 99:1-5)

“I love you. Don’t worry about a thing. Live according to my will. Let me delight your soul with the outcome.”

Our God is able. We know he is, amen? May we act like we have faith in more and more situations. 🩷

Earlier I felt God remind me that he is with me/us. That it’s good to be desperate for him, but there’s no need to be desperate for things in this world. That it’s so important to believe that he cares for us and has such beautiful blessings to pour out—and as we wait, we can live with peace and trust him.

✨ “The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.” (Numbers 6:24-26)

✨ Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. (Ephesians 1:3)

✨ And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:19)

Lord, praying for more opportunities to put you first now and in the new year. Show us how we can be more generous and loving to you and others. Help us hear you and discern your voice. Amen. 🕊️

Surrender your heart to me. Each day, I’ll give you what you need. I’ve said that. You can trust that. You can trust me.

Keep talking with me like you would with your best friends. My ear is open to you. I want you to come to me honestly, vulnerably, beautifully surrendered. And trust I hear you. I know you. I love you so much.

You don’t need to know everything. Trust that I do. For my yoke is easy and the burden I give you is light. Live lightly, knowing your Heavenly Father cares for you, your Lord is interceding for you, my Spirit is in you.

Live your identity as a beloved daughter of the Most High King.

When things don’t make sense and when they do, this will always be true. 🩷 Our God is holy and wholly loves us. As my mama reminded me tonight, let us not let our emotions or what we see distract us from the truth of who God is. He is for us. He will provide for us. He is our wonderful King. Let us rest in his shadow. 🩷

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. (Psalm 91:1)

Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 

For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!

These exhortations are so clearly stated yet sometimes we can forget. May we be encouraged today (daily bread!) to faithfully trust in who God is. He is our Father, our Lord, our provider—and he is good.

Let us be persistent in prayer—we’re never annoying him, we’re obeying him.

Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

Curled up with my morning coffee, staring out the window and felt the Holy Spirit nudge me with a:

“Girl, you need more courage. 😉”

I know, Lord. I know your command to:

🕊️ Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. (Joshua 1:9)

And I am grateful for your pep talks!

Are you grateful when God gives you pep talks?

If you need one today, be blessed knowing because of God we have real “he’s truly always going to come through” hope:

🕊️ May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. (Romans 15:13)

May we be strong and courageous today, casting our cares on the Lord and acting like we know God is with us. Our stories are unfolding and he has much more to come. 🩷

Thank you, Lord, for the blessing of music. It’s obviously powerful and can help us connect with your heart. Help us choose life in the songs we listen to. Show us how to be on guard with the lyrics we sing. Pour out new songs over the earth and give us fresh expressions of worship. How cool that we will never tire of wanting to worship you—draw us nearer. You are so worthy to be praised. We love you sm. Amen. 🙏

God cares about the cleanness of our hearts 🫶 “Create in me a clean heart,” prayed David (Psalm 51:10). And what are some things that cause an unclean heart?

*But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth … For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice. (James 3:14,16)

David prayed for a clean heart as he repented of sin. And as humans, perhaps there’s never a day where we don’t need to do this. May we be honest with God and ourselves when our hearts are getting off track, remember we can pray for clean hearts, and live reliant and empowered by the Holy Spirit.

Lord, we want to be like you. Help us become more Christ-like everyday. 🩷

Here I am, Lord. Loving you, needing you, and wanting you too. You know what I need, even when I forget, and I’m so grateful. Help me surrender all my needs to you and give thanks—for you already know what I need and are my Provider. Thank you, Lord. Help me rest in your embrace and trust you with everything.
