🌈 HAPPY PRIDE!
Five years ago today, I just happened to be in the heart of NYC when the fourteenth amendment was finally passed to grant and recognize same s*x marriages in the United States.
The streets were filled with celebrations for days and nights on end. My group and I ran into a really cool guy who gave us rainbow bandanas and shirts that said HOMOPHOBIA IS SO 90’s (although it should have always been nonexistent.) We quickly went home and made our own outfits, and headed out to support our LGBTQ brothers and sisters.
The experience was unexpected and extraordinary. The energy was fire. Love permeated through the air. And I was blessed enough to witness a beautiful moment in history, and the pure joy of those fighting for equal treatment finally get justice.
Everyone deserves to live out the truest expression of themselves without fear of judgement, discrimination or hate.
