Last Days Garage celebrates the last days of the glorious internal combustion engine and the equally wonderful manual transmission.

It's a channel dedicated to all things automotive at the whim of it's eclectic creator. The days of the internal combustion engine (ICE) are drawing to a close. With the demise of ICE we lose the wonderful metal symphony of interconnected science and mechanics to the silence and remoteness of the electric motor. Worse still, we lose the manual transmission. r and will probably build one myself, but in the mean time allow me to get all the gasoline-fueled fantasies out of my system.

OK Ford, Toyota is handing you an opportunity; their new $12K pickup could mean it's a good time for workman spec Maverick. How about a 2.5 Duratec, vinyl floor coverings, extended cab with longer bed, 2500 lb tow rating and no frills base spec. I'd love to see a 5-speed manual but I know that's a pipe dream. How about a base price of $18K?
