5 Hole Score Predictor

Filmed some content tonight for the first time in a while, have been playing but not as regularly (couple of times a month instead of couple of times a week) Frustration had been sinking in so took some time to chill out and start again mentally, and after starting a round poorly had no interest to film despite it’s probable comedic value, it didn’t feel funny at the time!! Filmed 5 holes which will be posted from tomorrow. Can safely say taking the frustration away makes it a lot more fun!

For anyone interested I’m consistently scoring in the 90’s now, a few months ago I couldn’t break 100 so there’s definitely progress. Next step is to get towards that 90 mark. I don’t ever expect to be scratch or anything like that, but there’s always room for improvements!

In other news still not got an official handicap yet but based off my recent scores and the slope rating of my home course I’m somewhere around 22-26.

Catch holes 5-9 of the 5 hole set starting tomorrow. For a little bit of fun comment below on what you think my score will be after the 5 holes. How many over par will I be? Stroke wise the par for the 5 holes is 19. Yes slight spoiler I wasn’t under par!!!

Got me a new old driver/big stick! Gone from a 10.5 degree regular shaft to a 12 degree extra-stiff shaft after the custom fit process, early indications show considerably more consistency so hopefully can take that onto the course for the first time tomorrow evening. I’m still good for a hook or slice but it’s definitely travelling down more straight than before. Clearly I have issues with my swing so I need all the help I can get with my tools! The upcoming videos will be in 3 hole sets as opposed to single hole to change it up a bit.

Finally got 18 holes in tonight, filmed the back 9 after a front 9 score of 52 (+17), front 9 scorecard in the comments.

Whilst still having some shocking holes and only scoring 1 par in 90 holes of golf, in general starting to get there and bring the score down from 55-57 from 9 holes down to 51-52, stripping out quad bogeys and getting less triples. Will start looking to get my handicap once I’m consistently breaking 100 after 18, the slope rating at my home course means scoring 100 (+30) works out approx a 26 handicap which isn’t far off where I was 7/8 years ago.

Here’s a putt I made on the 17th which is quite clearly the best putt I’ve made on video!

10th-18th holes will start from tomorrow.

Getting in 18 holes for the first time in 6 years on Monday, achievable target, break 110, as out of 7 rounds of 9 holes 4 of them have been 55’s! Cut down the meltdown holes and we will be fine! Not recording the full 18 holes but hopefully will get some in depending on how I get on!

Coming up from tomorrow, hole by hole videos of another set filmed last Friday. Gone out a couple more times since, slowly getting there, bogeys are getting a bit more regular which let’s be honest is like a birdie for me at the moment! Here’s a drive from the 2nd hole which whilst not the cleanest of strikes did get down there for once! First target, break 50 round 9 holes!

Recorded some play this evening, not a full 9 holes but got some great examples of poor golf, possibly summarised by this picture and having to play a shot left-handed! Head proper went partway through so I’m sure it will make for some entertaining content! Videos will start coming next week after the current set of 9 holes is complete!
