I always love to feature home bakers with a story. started from Grandma Leang and her daughter Karen using her trusted pineapple tart recipe. Since the 1980s, she’s been baking them for her family and friends. So excited to be able to try the pineapple tarts!

Ⓣⓐⓢⓣⓔ Ⓣⓔⓢⓣ

use premium quality Golden Churn Butter for their pastry dough and the pineapple 🍍 are painstakingly made from scratch using fresh pineapple. No preservatives are used at all in their pineapple tarts. For the final touch, each of the gobbets are brushed with their family secret no colour egg wash for that perfect golden sheen! So Kim Kim✨✨ (Gold Gold), like golden globes!

Pineapple tarts are my favourite snack during Chinese New Year and I know a good 🍍 tart when I try one. The fun size tart from is a decadent buttery treat that melts in the mouth! The pineapple jam had the right amount of tartness that give it a tangy kick. Shiok leh! The ratio of pineapple jam to the buttery crust is also on point. No one tart is the same in shape as they are all hand rolled by Grandma Leang. Authentic handmade goodness!

It is great that decide to share their love for their delicious homemade pineapple tarts with us! They are indeed tart with love ❤️! 🙆🏻‍♂️🙆🏻‍♂️🙆🏻‍♂️

Ah Ma’s cooking is always the most traditional and is no exception. They sent over their signature goodies for me to sample.

Ⓣⓐⓢⓣⓔ Ⓣⓔⓢⓣ

𝙏𝙧𝙖𝙙𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝙃𝙤𝙠𝙠𝙞𝙚𝙣 𝙉𝙜𝙤𝙝 𝙃𝙞𝙖𝙣𝙜
These Ngoh Hiang made with their ah mah’s recipe since 1950s were thick and packed to the brim with premium and fresh ingredients such as Tiger Prawn 🦐 , Australian Pork 🐖 and water chestnuts. Bite through the crispy skin and you get a mouthful of juicy mix of meat and prawn. The water chestnut gave an additional crunch to the texture. Aiyo this one really 真材实料 (real stuff) leh! Really old school goodness! When paired together with the homemade chilli, 绝配!!!(Perfect match!!!). The homemade chilli is garlicky 🧄 and pack a punch of spicyness 🌶🌶🌶. Not for the faint hearted! 😅. I love it since I am 无辣不欢 (no spicy no like).😎

This is a Christmas special only rice box that consists of Ah Ma’s special pork hae bi hiam, Thai Omelette, Sautéed vegetables and Jasmine Rice. The pork hae bi hiam was fragrant, savory and spicy and goes very well with the jasmine rice 🍚. 一口饭，一口虾米辣，赞啦！(one mouth rice, one mouth hae bi hiam, superb!) A little birdy 🐦 told me that the hae bi hiam was stir fried by hand relentlessly to obtain perfection.

“Fresh from my kitchen to yours” This is the tag line for and boy was I happy to receive their Xmas Box 🎁 to sample!

The Xmas Box consist of

Ⓣⓐⓢⓣⓔ Ⓣⓔⓢⓣ

𝙊𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙚 𝙋𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙙 𝘾𝙖𝙠𝙚 🍊 🍰

My favourite🧡 is the orange pound cake made with freshly squeezed orange juice and orange blossom water.
It was moist and dense. The aftertaste left my mouth perfumed with orange scent. Good pound cake!

𝙂𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙧𝘽𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙙 𝙈𝙖𝙣
The cute Gingerbread Man and Woman really bring out the festive feel. What I like about it is that the cinnamon and nutmeg flavours are not overpowering. They packed a crunch too!

𝙏𝙈𝘼’𝙨 𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙩 𝘽𝙧𝙤𝙤𝙠𝙞𝙚
This comet looking brookie is a cross between a brownie and cookie. I popped it in the toaster for 2 minutes to warm it up. The Brookie was rich and luscious with the added premium dark chocolate converture and melted marshmallow. The fresh raspberries provided some tartness to the Brookie and balance out the sweetness.

𝙋𝙚𝙥𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙩 𝙈𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙪𝙚
These melt in your mouth meringue with its festive red and white swirls were a delight to eat. The peppermint extract provided that minty aftertaste. They are perfect to go along with a cup of hot chocolate.

These was love ❤️ at first sight when I saw the floral agar agar jellies 🌺🌸🌹 from . They are so pretty and the intricate details that goes into the crafting of the flowers is amazing!! I almost felt guilty cutting into one. But having done that, one of the best decision I have made.

Ⓣⓐⓢⓣⓔ Ⓣⓔⓢⓣ

use fresh young coconut juice and quality agar agar to create the individual agar agar jelly floral cupcakes & it is good to know that they are also vegan friendly.

The base of the jelly is a layer of coconut 🥥 and nata de coco. The agar agar jelly is firm and the sweetness was just nice. The different texture in the layers provide a good contrast when biting into one.

is hands down one of the best agar agar jelly I have tried! They are so pretty too!!

Panna Cotta is a traditional Italian dessert which literally means 'cooked cream’ . It consisted of a simple mixture of sweetened cream and gelatine.
combined the best of both world into a Panna Cotta Tart! It’s all about the hybrid dessert nowadays. So when sent their signature tarts over, I was intrigued to try them.

Buttery taste and creamy at the same time. Old fashioned delight that will please everyone.

The petite loaf smell of Christmas! Moist and filled with rum soaked fruits, this is apt for the season. I do wish that the rum flavour could be more pronounced.

The Passion Fruit Curd was tangy and goes well with the cheesecake, the cute dollops of torched meringue added a tinge of sweetness to the buttery tart.

What a pretty sight! Decked in red and filled with delicious spiced apple filling & ganache, this dainty macaron packed a punch of flavours!

𝙎𝙣𝙤𝙬𝙮 𝙍𝙪𝙙𝙤𝙡𝙥𝙝 - 𝘾𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙭 𝙋𝙪𝙛𝙛 𝙒𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝘾𝙝𝙤𝙘𝙤𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙈𝙞𝙣𝙩 𝘾𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙧𝙙

This is the cutest triplets 🦌 🦌 🦌 within the box! Can’t bear to eat it! I like it that the choux was not too sweet and the chocolate mint custard was so yummy!

The coffee cupcake was decorated with a swirl of espresso buttercream topped with pearl sprinkles and a dropper of Baileys. The dropper added a fun element for the cupcake. This is for the coffee lover with a kick of alcohol.

Overall, cupcakes are generally not too sweet and the frosting are beatifully piped. With the additional of the chocolate peppermint cupcake, it is a wonderful choice to enjoy with the family or to send as a gift 🎁 .

sg is an up and coming home baker. For their first bake sales, they are selling “Golden Brown”, their unique version of Caramel cornflakes with brownie. Only the Finest Belgian Chocolate and Cocoa Powder goes into the making of the brownie. French butter are also used to give it that rich buttery goodness.

Ⓣⓔⓢⓣ Ⓣⓐⓢⓣⓔ

The cornflakes are mixed with salted caramel giving it a savoury sweetness and provided a contrast texture to the moist and dense brownie. The ratio of cornflakes to brownie is just nice too. I like it that the brownie is not too sweet. Crunchy on the top, fudgy and gooey at the bottom. In short, you are getting the best of both world in one dessert. Best part, you are paying only one price for it! Value for money, I must say!

This is an decadent dessert that will go down well with kids and adults alike.

180° Oven-Baked is run by a young Chef that used to work in reputable 5 stars hotels such as The St Regis, Marina Bay Sands and The Regent. He decided to strike out on his own by serving out good quality confections at an affordable price.

Filled with dark chocolate ganache, this dainty tart was topped with a gold leaf. Atas much! Taste wise, it was luxuriously rich with a pleasant earl grey aftertaste. Can tell that good quality chocolate was used to attain this.

𝕋𝕚𝕣𝕒𝕞𝕚𝕤𝕦 🍫 ☕️
I like the smooth, creamy combi of mascarpone and custard. If I am to nit-pick, I do wished that the coffee flavour could be a bit more pronounced. Just a personal preference though.

Filled with tangy lemon filling and embossed on the top with torched meringues, this tart had a good balance of sourness and sweetness to it. How refreshing!

My personal favourite! This tart was decorated with heaps of cinnamon apple chunks and fresh cream pearlies. Very generous! The tartness of the apples chunks goes well with the crusty tart and cream. Yums, gone in 2 bites!

𝕄𝕒𝕟𝕘𝕠 𝕄𝕚𝕣𝕣𝕠𝕣 𝕄𝕠𝕦𝕤𝕤𝕖 🥭
The Mango Mousse, glazed with a beautiful yellow hue was light and airy. Didn’t feel guilty at all when I ate this.

Overall, offers exquisite confections with a sweet little price tag. Their pricing range from $2.20 - $4.20. Have an indulgent treat without breaking the bank. They will pleased even the most discerning tase buds.

has been doing the cooking on a small scale for family and friends. After more than a year plus, she decided to start a home based business over the weekends serving bento sets.

sent over a bento set consisting of Mutton balls in masala, mashed potato and baked chickpeas with spices, together with a yam flavoured sago dessert and Pandan Coconut cupcakes.

Truth to be told, I don’t eat mutton very often because of the gamey taste. But I must say the mutton balls were quite decent. They were freshly made infused with spices, coriander and breadcrumbs. I don’t mind having a few more of these.

The Baked Chickpeas were made from scratch, soaked overnight, baked with a drizzle of olive oil. Not my favourite, as I find it to be a bit dry but I appreciate the effort put into it.

Masala Potato

The added tempered onions, chilli, herbs and tumeric powder into the mash potatoes worked together giving it a smooth and savoury flavour. I really like this.

Both the desserts were old school delights. The Pandan coconut cupcake was moist and not too sweet.

The Purple Yam infused Sago that was made with 50% milk and 50% trim coconut milk was light and not heavy, so you don’t feel jelat after a few mouthful.
