Update on my hair: I recently bleached my roots and it lightened very nicely. After doing so, I added some silvery purple tones to the freshly bleached area by mixing up Arctic Fox Hair Color in Poseidon and Purple AF + some coconut conditioner.

I enjoyed seeing the roots in this nice Periwinkle tone and wanted to lighten the rest of my hair out. I still had some Wella Color Paints in Purple and Fuchsia and those came out easy with my Developer + Baking Soda mix, but Aquamarine by Arctic Fox was far less forgiving - will it ever come out? We shall find out... but that's for another day.

After seeing the green swamp tones leftover by Aquamarine, I decided to mix up a purple to cancel the greens while allowing the blues to still come through. I put a good amount of conditioner in this mix and that is where we are in these photos.

Knowing I still had green tones, I went ahead and made a new mix adding more Purple AF instead of so much blue - this cancelled the green tones out even more.

Lately I have been angry.

I have been angry at The Universe, God, Allah, The Snow, The 5:30pm Darkness, The Silent Hand, The Corporate pleasantries, The gray void of Zoom, the governing bodies with flawed minds, and the way my chair needs to be balanced just right as to not throw my back out at the end of the day.

But

It is beyond moving how quickly all of that can be cured with a simple reminder of friendship and community.

Last night I published my favorite Yoga Diary Entry to date, and it is crazy to me that we have found ourselves at Entry 20! We talk freely about friendship, mental health, societal pressure, and just doing what makes you happy.

Hey Guys, it has been a wild wild week. Very emotional, and tonight, it was just me and the mat (although I totally should have brought/rented a towel 😅).

This right here is exactly why I go to the Hot Yoga Studio. And when they say "Hot", they mean HOT 🔥

Tonight everyone in the class had been there before, so our instructor gave us some additional challenges, and was able to give advice on form/relaxation.
I gave all my emotions to the mat tonight, letting go of my anger and grief, and in return I gave myself an incredible workout, burning 571 calories compared to my typical 350-450.

Just as always, I share my raw take aways on the Izzy's World Podcast, recording hands free during my drive home, with a vulnerable mind, tonight focusing on Empathy and the Social Media smokescreen.

Lesson 10: We are genuinely in this together which means no one is your competition. Lift each other up.
Lesson 11: Healing happens every time you grow. There is no end to healing. There is no end to growing.
Lesson 12: You don't owe them anything/they don't owe you either.
Lesson 13: Stop expecting you from other people.
Lesson 14: Even if you don't "get it" right away, there is nothing you can't learn. Information is available everywhere.
Lesson 15: Be easy to work with and don't talk poorly about the people around you.
Lesson 16: Wear the cool pants

Yesterday I had the pleasure of hosting a baby shower for a dear friend!

Her mother in law asked me, "so how do you know each other? School?", and my mind began to trace the life that we once lived together.

I reply, "yeah, we went to high school and college together", but I also knew there was so much more to it than that.

We leaned on each other in such a unique time in our lives when all that mattered was which candle she was burning so I could find a complimentary scent to have in the kitchen. When our couches had too many blankets draped over them. When she met the man that is now her husband, and father to their first child, arriving next month.

Later, she was asked, "so how do you know Izzy?", and my heart was full when she responded, "we did life together for a minute".

Though our lives are in much different spots than they were just 4 years ago, I am so thankful to have this friendship to ground to in times when everything feels so up in the air.

Thank you for allowing me to host a baby shower for you - I am so excited to see your family grow, and I can't wait to meet the little one 👣💙
