A Texas-based space burial company called Celestis is sending the DNA of four former US presidents into deep space along with the DNA of several Star Strek Original Series cast and crew. If the mission succeeds, the Enterprise Flight will end up in orbit around the sun around 150 to 300 million miles away. Celestis is already calling it the "first human outpost in deep space."

Ryan Graves joined the US Navy in 2009 and underwent years of rigorous training as a pilot, trained to be an expert observer. But something happened in 2014 that led to him being the first active-duty pilot to publicly disclose regular sightings of Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon (UAP). There have been over 500 reported UFO sightings in the US since 2004. And for a long time, all that was good for was getting you called a conspiracy theorist. Then in 2022, the Department of Defense admitted that some 171 unexplainable sightings displayed "unusual flight characteristics.” On this episode of Technality, we speak with Graves about what he saw and what he's trying to accomplish with his organization, Americans For Safe Aerospace.

When American company Stratolaunch begins drop testing its hypersonic test vehicle Talon-A later this year, you can be sure that the memory of Paul Allen will be on many people’s minds. The late businessman and philanthropist co-founded Microsoft with Bill Gates in 1975. And while he never got the chance to reach space himself, he helped propel the private space exploration industry. Aviation was among many of his lifelong interests, a passion that eventually led him on a quest to democratize space. In other words, making space attainable without big government budgets, rocket ships and launch pads. This month, Stratolaunch’s Roc carrier plane conducted its 9th ever test flight - staying in the air above California’s Mojave Desert longer than it ever has before – more than six hours. But what’s really interesting about the world’s biggest plane is what it’s carrying: the company’s Talon-A hypersonic vehicle.

The National Renewable Energy Laboratory in the United States just got its first patent approval for technology called distributed embedded energy converter technologies, or DEEC-Tec for short. According to their website, what sets it apart from existing sea power converters is that rather than using just one generator, DEEC-Tec uses many tiny ones to capture and convert the kinetic energy built up by moving water.
