Corruption Propelled by greed and selfishness, corruption has become the most regressive pandemic in Zambia. It has damaged the social and institutional fabric of the country. It is widespread and increasingly becoming part of everyday life, with the risk of becoming an integral part of the fibre of our culture. Not only are public or official decisions, such as the awarding of government contracts, bought and sold, but very often access to public service or the exercise of a right, such as obtaining public documents, has to be paid for through illicit bribes.
Several mechanisms have supported the spread of corruption and turned it into normal practice, with upright civil servants removed from office. Similarly, businesses that oppose corruption are penalised through the withdrawal of their operating licenses or by granting favour to their competitors.

The UPND is fully committed to fighting this scourge, based on a strong principle of zero tolerance to corruption in all its forms. In addition to strengthening the Anti-Corruption Commission, the UPND will increase the benefits of being honest and the costs of being corrupt. Besides this, the UPND Government will:

a. Establish special fast track anti-corruption courts to clear the backlog of outstanding corruption cases and expedite the conclusion of similar cases going forward.

b. Ensure that all public offices will have open door policies at all levels from the minister to the lowest technocrat.

c. Ensure that all unclassified public records are readily available and open to the public for scrutiny.

d. Ensure government officials declare any new wealth annually.

e. Conduct lifestyle audits, with any civil servant found wanting being suspended until a court ruling.

3 days for first wife - 2 days for second wife; rules Ndola court

The Ndola Local Court has set ground rules for a wife and her rival fighting for their chance in bed with their shared man.

Charity Mundia cried to the court that her husband David Mwamba has been expending all his sweat and energies on his second wife leaving her alone and cold in her bed.

She added that whilst she did not object to Mwamba converting having a second wife if he so wished, the same should not be at the cost of her being denied a share of her husband’s pleasure provision rota.

Meanwhile, Mwamba in explaining his decision to only bruise his knees and elbows at his second wife's home said that his senior wife Charity had formed a bond with beer which led her to insult whenever she was drunk and that he was averse to noise hence opting to fire his weapon at the younger woman who did not nag him.

However, in making ruling, Magistrate Mildred Namwizye directed Mwamba to dedicate three days to pleasure his first wife and two days with his second wife and use the remaining two days to replenish his energy for the following week's

While in South Africa where he has been receiving medical treatment, UPND leader, Hakainde Hichilema had his request to meet outspoken EFF leader Julius Malema hit a snag.

Hichilema through some connections in South Africa, wrote to EFF to request for a meeting with Malema whose agenda was unknown.

But in response, Malema said he could not meet Hichilema without being furnished with a meaningful agenda.

" How can I meet someone who has not given us any reason for wanting to see us? Besides, we don't meet crybabies and leaders who have no direction," Malema said.

And Malema said having followed Zambian politics, he does not think Hichilema was a seasoned and experienced politican to wrestle power from the ruling PF.

"Much as we hear that the governing Patriotic Front is not the best of political parties in Zambia, we don't believe Mr. Hichilema and the UPND are formidable enough to unseat the PF. Mr. Hichilema is a political non-entity who was just parachuted into his party as president so we are told," said Malema.

Efforts to get a comment from UPND Spokesperson, Cornelius Mweetwa proved futile as his mobile phone went unanswered.

DON'T BECOME THEIR CONVENIENT VERSION -DR CHOOLWE

Today I encourage that dreamer out there who has been discouraged by people.

"If you put a small value on yourself, rest assured that the world will not raise your price "- John Maxwell et all.

If you fail, they will laugh at you. When you suit their opinion of life they may never even care about you because you are like them. When you challenge the status quo they will find everything from self righteousness, misquoting scripture to imposing limiting beliefs to try to stop you. Joseph can't you see the issue here? It is not your name or your family but YOUR DREAM. They know what it will achieve if you succeed but they lack the discipline to stay persistent on theirs. So they would rather you all fail than see you succeed. I can tell you that I remember very little praises in the process but when you succeed they will praise you for what they criticized you for. So don't be moved.

This morning I say to you , see value in yourself and KEEP MOVING and MOVE BIG. The belief that Joseph was proud never stopped God from lifting him. Leave the social commentators who seem to have a manual of what you should and shouldn't do alone.

Dario once said something to me and I think he was either quoting someone or reading from his book " he said my life will not be an APOLOGY but a STATEMENT". You can either be their convenient version in an attempt to apologise for dreaming and your desire of being accepted. Or you can be statement of divine purpose.

I end by reminding you of something I heard from John Maxwell. Whether he was quoting another person or not I am not sure. And he said :

"When you walk before God he may not ask you why you never became the richest person in the world. He may never even ask why you never became a person everyone likes. He will ask you WHY YOU BECAME EVERYTHING ELSE BUT NEVER BECAME YOU. You never became the person you should have been pursuing HIS PURPOSE FOR YOUR LIFE and not their view of who and what you should do..".

This is from me friend . Pastor Choolwe is your number one cheer leader. Pursue that purpose and move on. I believe in you and I am praying for you. You won't find negative energy here.

After leaving the Cassava growing workshop; Hon Dora Siliya went on to visit and get a development update at Chilunda were she was interacting with pupils and PTA leaders and headmen after which she donatied over K70, 000 worth of school materials at the self help community school which included 150 roofing sheets 100 cement 100 tinbers. This is what we cal a working MP.

Her passion for Education campaigns to inspire kids to do well at school has grown tremendously especially in rural areas.
Over the past few years Hon Dora Siliya 4 Petauke Central -PF-Petauke and team have engaged and donated to Taxi Drivers, Women through PF Divas, initiatiated entrepreneural cooperation through My Home town programs but to mention a few.
