For centuries Black women’s bodies have been used, abused, sexualized, and used for exploitation and experimentation. We have been used as breeding machines, called ugly, called bi***es and to top it off angry. We are expected to be strong because that’s just who we are right? Strong…how dare we have emotions? How dare we have moments of weakness? How dare we be human beings and have an off day and lose a game! How dare we place your mental health before running, jumping, leaping for the enjoyment of others as we have done for generations? Run niggra run!! Jump!! Leap and bring us a medal less we call you a failure, an embarrassment, a loser…our bodies have historically not been our own but we have to continue to fight to change this narrative. Enough is enough. My heart breaks for these young women who have given us their all in the midst of deep rooted pain. Pushing past being molested and sexually assaulted, bullied, ridiculed, losing a mother just to use their bodies to…entertain. My heart hurts but I still scream their names and send them nothing but love and light!! Just as Naomi said it’s Ok to NOT be OK!! It is OK to say no to the media r**e and evil social media bullies and it is OK to come home without a medal…it is OK…Lord bless them on their journeys and give them strength and peace. Your voice is the only one that matters but protect their hearts and their beautiful brown bodies… 🙏🏾🙏🏾
