Before Klaus and Eva Freyinger became residents of 510 Groveland, Klaus had spent time there as a commissioned architect working on an apartment redesign. Interior designer Andrew Flesher’s first rule in historic home renovation is “to stay true to the architecture of the home… Work from the outside in and ensure the details fit with the period in which the house was built.” His experience designing residences at 510 Groveland reflects his passion for honoring a property’s past while incorporating modern finishes. Nearly 100 years ago, the Groveland Apartment Hotel opened its doors as the most luxurious hotel in Minneapolis. Its transformation to an ownership cooperative in 1946 and the ongoing commitment to preservation of the building’s splendor, have defined 510 Groveland as an icon of the Minneapolis landscape.
