TPLF faced crushing defeat at the battle of Debark— from Aug 30 to Sep 4, 2021— in Amhara. Zegeba sources on the ground confirmed that thousands of TPLF fighters, including Colonel Kiros Gebrekindan and an unidentified colonel, were killed. The combined force of: Ethiopian National Defense Force (ENDF), Amhara Special Force, Amhara Fano and militia fought against TPLF at the battle. A contingent of Oromia militia (estimated around one hundred) also took part in the fray. General Bacha Debele of ENDF told state broadcast today that more than: 5600 TPLF fighters are killed, 2300 wounded and 2000 captured.

TPLF bombarded residential areas in Woldia—a town in Amhara region. They fired at least 5 artillery projectiles at the Gondar-Ber neighborhood of the town. Casualty detail is not known yet. TPLF launches an offensive to control the strategic town from Amhara and federal forces. There is an active fight around the town as we speak.

መከላከያ ውስጡ ባሉ ኦነግ አመራሮች ከባድ ክህደት ተፈፅሞበታል። ከህወሃት ጋር በሚስጥር የሚሠሩ የኦነግ ሰወች ከጀርባ አስመትተዉታል። ሰራዊቱ በተፈፀመበት ክህደት ከተለያዩ የትግራይ አካባቢወች እንዲወጣ ተገዷል። ከመቀሌ አፈግፍጓል የሚል ያልተረጋገጠ መረጃ አለ።

Another border dispute among regional states in Ethiopia: this time between Afar and Tigray regional states.

Per Major Ibrahim Humed, the head of Afar regional state security affairs, Afar state has captured and started governing Sawnie—a contentious district in the Afar - Tigray border.

The area was part of Afar until the TPLF annexed it into Tigray in 1991. 7 years ago, residents of the area demanded the House of Federation to be under Afar regional state. But the government of Ethiopia that was then dominated by the TPLF responded by ostracizing the residents from: development, safety net, health and other development programs.

Shimelis Abdisa, president of Oromia regional state, ridiculed the US visa ban against Ethiopian officials.

"They (US) don't know me and I don't know them. I don't travel much; so the decision doesn't concern me much. I don't need a visa to travel to Moyale and Adwa (localities in Ethiopia). Pass on this message to them."
