SPAR HOSTS HANDOVER CELEBRATION AS NETBALL WORLD CUP TROPHY ARRIVES IN GAUTENG


Johannesburg, Gauteng, 30 May 2023: The build-up to the 2023 Vitality Netball World Cup continues to gain momentum, with the Gauteng province receiving the tournament trophy as part of a national tour ahead of the quadrennial showpiece.

The Netball World Cup trophy was officially handed over from KwaZulu-Natal to Gauteng in a celebration ceremony held at the SPAR South Rand distribution centre on Tuesday 30 May.

With less than 60 days to go to the start of the tournament in Cape Town - the first Netball World Cup to be held on African soil – influential local and national officials turned out in support in the build-up to the international spectacle.
