20 minutes? 30? 40?.....an hour?!
This answer totally depends on your audience and genre.
There are plenty of podcasts that have seen success with a length of five minutes, and some that are an hour+.
But the vast majority seem to fall into the 40-ish minute category.
However, that doesn't necessarily mean that's what you should do! Here are some key thoughts to consider. 👇
How long is your listeners' commute?
Are they working or stay-at-home peeps?
What kind of time do they have to devote to podcasts and when are they listening?
And then I always tell people to run some experiments to figure out what your specific listeners respond to best!

What's a polar pattern? It defines how much of the audio gets picked up by the microphone from different directions.
I'll spare you the fancy names, but is your audio coming from 👇

Maybe mostly front, some in the back?
What about from the sides?
The point is that not all mics are created equal, so knowing where yours is picking up sound can make or break your audio quality. The product descriptions should provide this specific info for you!

Every word out of your mouth should go towards supporting these! It's super easy to rabbit-trail and forget the point you're trying to make. Our brains can move quicker than our mouths, and it gets us lost sometimes! So when you're planning your episode, write them out. This will keep you on track and headed in the right direction when recording.✅Come to interviews prepared with questionsYour guest should know ahead of time what they're going to be asked. Maybe they even have a list of questions they WANT you to ask them! What's nice about the podcast industry is that there are no hard and fast rules.
That said, there are still trends that can be taken into account if growth is something you're after.
In terms of publishing frequency, recent stats from Buzzsprout tell us that:
Episodes published every 3 - 7 days make up 36%.
And episodes published every 8 - 14 days are about 40%.
If growing your podcast is your number one priority, then the stats recommend not going more than 1-2 weeks without publishing another episode!

Feeling stuck, trapped, or unable to move forward with your podcast and business?
You are not alone. So often I have clients tell me that they feel this way. And to be completely honest, I’ve felt this way before as well.
You’re only human and there are times where your podcast is going to seem like the hardest thing ever. But there are ways to shake off that feeling. Here are three of my top suggestions: 👇
1. Identify what exactly is causing you to feel stuck. (not enough time, know-how, motivation...etc.)
2. Imagine what you could do if "x,y,z" wasn't an issue. (get more clients, make more money, improve the quality...etc.)
3. List out possible solutions to determine what's realistic for where you're at! (maybe it's outsourcing, or maybe it's just improving your systems or tools)
Don't get lost in the negative emotions - analyze the problem and weigh out your solutions!

If you care about the quality of your podcast's sound, then WHERE you record matters greatly.
Pick a room that easily absorbs sound and doesn't echo (reverb). Quite literally, closets do this very well and make the perfect space!
However, if closet-recording isn't your thing, then go for carpeted rooms with lots of fabrics, books, and furniture to help curb the echoes and absorb the sound.
Foam panels may also come in handy if you need that extra boost!

According to data collected by Megaphone, these time slots resulted in the most downloads per average episode:
5 am Tuesday
5 am Friday
5 am Thursday
In terms of which day of the week, Thursdays had the most total downloads per average episode.
The early morning times are logical because episodes are more likely to appear at the top of the user's list in their podcast app, increasing their chances of listening during popular hours, such as morning and afternoon commutes.
Of course, we all know that not every show is the same, or has the same audience. This info is a great starting point, but please do the following! 👇
✨ Look at your analytics. See what your numbers are saying! When are your episodes being downloaded the most?
✨ Ask your audience when they listen. Instagram makes it really easy to poll your audience and learn more about their habits!

What is Clubhouse App and do you need it for your business??
Clubhouse App was in beta until early 2020, but has more recently gained traction with users. It's a voice-based app, that allows its users to converse in "rooms" about any topic! Most of the topics right now are business-related, or for personal development. The users can host conversations, mediate them, and engage with other users listening in.
This app is currently invite-only, which is kind of brilliant if you ask me. Not only are they creating a hype around it, but it's gaining traction fast because people have serious FOMO issues.
How do I get an invite?
By asking an existing user for one. The other option is to download the app and reserve your username by joining their waitlist. They'll let you know when you can officially join and start using it.
Once you're in, each user gets only one invite to share with others. You can earn more invites by being active within the app, and hosting conversations.
**PRO TIP** If you think there's the smallest chance that you'll end up using this app in the future, I'd go to the waitlist and reserve your username now while fewer people are in it. You can thank me later!
Why is it invite-only?
They simply don't have the infrastructure in place to accommodate the whole world using it at once. But don't worry! They're working to make it more accessible, and less exclusive.
