Looking back at how far we have come with the podcast, episode 10 of season 1, the Triangle, with Lisa N. still tops the charts with the most downloads. This episode aired on 31 October 2021 and ended the pilot season with a bang‼️ I wondered, what is it about that that gets everyone’s attention?🤔😏 of course, many of us have either been catfished or have catfished others. The proliferation of dating sites and other social media makes this phenomenon the number 1 issue that most want to learn about to this very day.

In season 2 episode 8, Gail Schimmel educates us on how the Advertising Regulatory Board (South Africa) addresses unethical influencer marketing. We discuss the impact of this type of marketing and best ways to avoid non-compliance with the ARB's Code of Conduct. Although influencers have to protect how they commercially exploit their personalities, this episode reminds us of their responsibilities when promoting brand products and services. You may have recently seen celebrities fined for not disclosing the income they get for using their personality for social media marketing and product endorsements. This had me thinking 🤔 how often do celebrities and influencers declare the same income to tax authorities in Africa? With the rise of Tiktok overnight starts and the rapid shift to influencer marketing, payments via cryptos and the sale of NFTs, I decided to invite Ruddy Kabwe to speak about tax liability for image rights exploitation in Africa. This episode is aimed at raising awareness of the liability that one could attract for not declaring this kind of income. While your personality is inseparable from you, the income you make from your personality is unfortunately partially separable from you due to revenue collection. We also talk about the challenges and possible tax evasion that occurs due to crypto payments and NFT sales. What’s that?🤷🏽‍♀️
I know privacy rights, but image?

Image Rights are so relevant today. Many people are shifting from ordinary persons influencelebrities 👩‍🎤(I know it’s not a word 🥴, and yes I know there is a difference between famous and celebrity 😑 and being an influencer).

However, you have to admit that social media is blurring the lines.🤔 One minute you’re at the office with someone 👩🏽‍💻 and the next their on Instagram Live talking about ‘my followers’🤳.
