ONE-WEEK MAJOR SWEEP BY PRO2 NETS OVER 200 CRIMINAL SUSPECTS AND FACILITATES REBEL SURRENDERS

As the Philippine National Police intensifies anti-crime drive against high value criminals, Police Regional Office 2 (PRO 2) scored another breakthrough accomplishment in one week police operation that resulted in the arrest of 176 wanted persons, including 7 topmost wanted from January 22-28, 2023.

According to the weekly accomplishment report submitted by Police Brigadier General Percival A Rumbaoa, Regional Director, PRO2, 31 drug personalities were arrested in 28 police operations conducted, and seized 30.12 grams of Shabu and 186.71 grams of Ma*****na with a total Standard Drug Price of Php245,856.85. Meanwhile, 35 were arrested in nine operations against illegal gambling during the period.

Furthermore, six individuals were arrested in seven operations for violating Forestry Code, which resulted in the confiscation of 1,667.8 Board Feet Worth Php71,110.25.

The unit also facilitated the surrender of two regular NPA, nine NPA in the Barrio, and 48 CTG Supporters in support of government’s NTF-ELCAC program.

Report also revealed the arrest of 219 individuals in 33 operations for various law violations across the region.

While in other violations of law, a total of 219 individuals were arrested in 33 police operations conducted in different places in the region.

PNP Chief, PGen Rodolfo S Azurin Jr commends the hard work and dedication of Police Regional Office 2 led by PBGen Percival A Rumbaoa, PRO 2 Regional Director, in scoring these accomplishments, urges intensification of strategies against criminality, illegal drugs, corruption, and insurgency.

“I am confident that by improving our partnerships with external parties, we can successfully combat lawlessness and establish peace in the country," PGen Azurin said.

Humigit kumulang 27 taon siyang kumilos sa NPA at kalaunay naging Leader ng Local na Yunit Guerilya (LYG) sa loob ng walong taon sa Isla ng Mindoro Siya ay napabilang din sa most wanted na personalidad sa Rehiyon ng 4B. Troops of the 14th Infantry (Avenger) Battalion discovered an arms cache consisting of four (4) high-powered fi****ms in the vicinity of Barangay Maligaya, Mahaplag, Leyte. The said arms cache consists of one AK47 assault rifle, an M16 armalite rifle, an M1 garand rifle, a 40mm M79 gr***de launcher, and assorted magazines belonging to the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG), Platoon 1, Sub-Regional Command-LEVOX, and the Eastern Visayas Regional Party Committee (P1, SRC-LEVOX, and EVRPC). The local populace and former CTG supporters in the area reported the location of the said CTG arms cache to the government troops.
