SYNOPSIS...
High pressure over the area departs later today. A cold front
moves through the region tonight, and then broad high pressure
builds down from eastern Canada through the weekend. Several
tropical systems over the western Atlantic ocean will remain
away from the Mid- Atlantic coast.

NEAR TERM /THROUGH WEDNESDAY/...
High pressure retreats to the south today ahead of an
approaching cold front. The cirrus shield from distant Tropical
Storm Imelda should keep things mostly cloudy today albeit dry.
Even with mostly cloudy skies, temperatures get into the upper
70s/low 80s.

Cold front comes approaches tonight and will usher in a fall-
like airmass. Not much moisture to work with, and the front may
even wash out by the time it gets through our region, so not
expecting any precipitation. We begin to feel the effects of the
Canadian airmass tonight as lows dip into the mid to upper 40s
in the Poconos and northern NJ, with 50s elsewhere. With the
front not getting through the southern half of the area until
late, some spots in far south Jersey and Delmarva could stay
above 60.

High pressure begins to nudge in from the north on Wednesday,
with a cool airmass overhead. There will be a notable northeast
breeze as a tight pressure gradient sets up with the incoming
high and two tropical systems exiting stage right in the
Atlantic. Winds near the coast could gust near 40 MPH at times,
with lesser gusts the further inland you go. While skies are
mostly sunny, temperatures only get into the upper 60s/low 70s.

Well it seems that these Hurricane's this year are scared of the East Coast. Humberto and Imelda are both Turning to the East and going to Europe if they make it. They will still affect use with Rip Currents and wind and Rain. We will still be tracking these 2 Strom Fronts till they are well off in the Atlantic. Here is the latest info from the National Hurricane Center.

SYNOPSIS...
High pressure is in control through Tuesday. A strong but
moisture-starved cold front moves through on Tuesday night
before an expansive area of high pressure moves in for the rest
of the week and the upcoming weekend.
NEAR TERM /THROUGH TUESDAY/...
Very large shield of high clouds has spread north of Imelda,
but otherwise, impacts for land areas are expected to be minimal
before it turns east and out-to-sea on Tuesday. Otherwise, weak
high pressure will remain in control through Tuesday, keeping
it warm and humid by late September standards. A few showers may
creep their way into parts of the Delmarva, most likely this
evening, but overall dry weather should prevail with a
relatively light northeast wind of 5-10 mph. Near the coastal
waters, this wind may become closer to 10-20 mph by later in the
day Tuesday. Lows tonight will be in the mid 50s to mid 60s,
warmest south/coast/urban areas, while highs Tuesday will be in
the mid 70s to low 80s, warmest eastern PA and central/northern
NJ where there should be a little more sun and a bit less marine
influence.

SYNOPSIS...
High pressure will maintain its influence over the area into
the new work week. A strong cold front will pass through the
area around mid-week, followed by a strong high pressure system
building southward in its wake through the remainder of the
week.

NEAR TERM /THROUGH MONDAY/...
We continue to see a clear sky with some sunshine for the
remainder of the day as a high pressure system is building in
from the north and west. This does start to change a bit as we
head through the evening and into tonight. Clouds for our
coastal areas and southeastern zones do start to filter back in.
Overnight, clouds look to be mainly confined south and east of
the I-95 corridor. It will be a clear sky as you head west and
mostly to partly cloudy as you head southeast. Due to a pretty
clear sky overall across the area, light winds, and even some
lingering moisture near the ground from previous rain will lead
to some potential patchy fog. Right now, the best confidence
looks to be Delmarva, parts of New Jersey, and parts of the
Lehigh Valley. Lows tonight are in the mid 50s to mid 60s.

On Monday, our high pressure system remains our dominant weather feature. This high pressure system does retreat slightly to the northwest which will allow moisture to usher in from the south in the form of mid and high level clouds. Now there are ongoing
tropical systems in the Atlantic to our southeast, but with high
pressure being our main dominant weather feature, it will keep those systems away from our area. What we mainly see is some of this moisture moving into our area from the south in the form of the cloud cover mentioned above. There may even be a spotty to
isolated light shower in Delmarva but that seems pretty limited
at this time. Highs on Monday are in the mid 70s to low 80s.

Good afternoon! Following the rain parts of our area saw last night, the next week is expected to stay dry.

In terms of any hazardous weather, there will be increasing northeast winds by Tuesday night into Wednesday, due in part to the tropical systems well to our south, and this will help to pile up water along the oceanfront, back bays, and Delaware Bay. The result of this will be the potential for widespread minor coastal flooding for the Wednesday PM high tide in these areas.

When will it rain again? Difficult to say at this point but there really aren't any strong indications of a pattern change at least through the next week or two.

🌀Tropical Depression Nine is expected to be at or near hurricane intensity when it is closest to the southeast U.S. coast early next week.
