Gee some who gets the issue. Too bad our Local Government can not have the compassion for the local pets and wildlife.👍

Brazilian singer Taty Girl made headlines during a live concert by canceling a fireworks display to protect a homeless dog, showcasing her compassion and animal welfare advocacy. While performing, she spotted a stray dog, later named Caramelo, peacefully watching from a distance. She addressed the audience, saying, “We won’t use fireworks because Caramelo doesn’t like them. He’s enjoying the show peacefully.” Her heartwarming act went viral, earning praise on social media and sparking discussions on pet safety. Fans encouraged her to adopt Caramelo, and she listened—giving him a loving home and proving why she’s a beloved celebrity.

945 AM EDT Wed Mar 12 2025
SYNOPSIS...
High pressure extends southward into the Mid-Atlantic through
Friday. A warm front lifts north through the region Friday
night, and then a strong cold front passes through the region
Sunday night. High pressure returns for the start of the new
work week.

/THROUGH TONIGHT/...
930 AM...Minor tweaks made to the forecast this morning
especially in the dew point category. Dew points are very dry,
mainly in the teens in wake of the cold front that passed
through. This has resulted in lower RHs this morning, but
overall has had little impact on the area at this time.
Previous discussion remains below:

Cooler conditions expected today under partly to mostly cloudy
skies with a dry northeast to easterly breeze.

The challenge for today's forecast will be temperatures. Given
the lack of surface ridging extending southwest into the area
until later tonight, this would support temperatures over
performing again today despite a light northeast to east surface
flow.Long story short, a lot of factors at play with today`s temperature forecast. The
ultimate result will be the warmest temperatures occurring
southwest into western Delmarva and coolest north and east
closer to the colder air mass and closer to the coast. Should
generally see widespread high temperatures in the 50s. Inland
areas near and south and west of the Philly metro will reach
near 60 degrees, while the immediate coast and higher terrain up
north will be stuck in the 40s.

As mentioned previously, there will be periods of clouds and
sun today with more sun to the south and more cloudy than not
farther north. Winds will be from the northeast shifting to east
or southeast around 5-15 mph, with some gusts near 25-30 mph
possible near the coasts.

Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Mount Holly NJ
9:33 AM EDT Tue Mar 11/2025

The warmest day so far this year is expected for today under
sunny skies with a dry southwest breeze. West to southwest
flow pattern will continue to prevail aloft through mid week. At
the surface, low pressure passing well north of the area this
morning will push a cold front into the area overnight as high
pressure builds to the north and northeast in its wake.

While record highs should largely be safe today, March 11th is
a "low hanging fruit" day with daily record values mostly in the
mid 70s. So long story short, most sites will come within 5
degrees of record highs today. See the Climate section below for
more details.

With relative humidity falling into the 20-30% range this
afternoon, we`ll have continued fire weather concerns for some
areas where winds are a bit stronger. See the Fire Weather
section below for more details.

A back door front will drop down from the north beginning late
this evening into the overnight, with surface winds shifting
north to northeast near 10 mph. Low temperatures by Wednesday
morning will be near 40 degrees south of I-78, and in the low
to mid 30s near and north of I-78.

..Increased Risk of Fire Spread Today...

There is an increased risk for fire spread today across portions
of northern New Jersey. Minimum relative humidity values will be
between 20 to 30 percent combined with south-southwest winds near 10 to 15 mph and gusts up to 20-25 mph. High temperatures this afternoon will range from the mid 60s to low 70s. These conditions along with the continued drying of fine fuels could support the rapid spread of any fires that ignite, which could quickly become difficult to control.

Outdoor burning is strongly discouraged. Be sure to properly
extinguish or dispose of any potential ignition sources, including
smoking materials such as cigarette butts. Refer to your state`s
forest fire management agency for more information on burn
restrictions for your local area.

11/03/2025

Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Mount Holly NJ
706 PM EDT Mon Mar 10 2025
SYNOPSIS...
High pressure will be over the area through Tuesday, and then a
cold front passes through the region Tuesday night. High
pressure settles over eastern Canada Wednesday through Friday. A
warm front lifts north on Friday night, and high pressure
establishes itself over the Mid-Atlantic this weekend until a
strong cold front passes through the region late Sunday. High
pressure returns on Monday.

/THROUGH TUESDAY/...
Not much change in the overall weather pattern is expected
through Tuesday as flow aloft is zonal and the area remains
wedged between low pressure systems. One low will skirt off the
Carolina coast tonight so aside for a few high clouds associated
with the southern low early this evening, clear skies are
expected through Tuesday. Winds will be light and variable
tonight with low temperatures in the mid to upper 30s to around
40 degrees.

Tuesday will essentially be a rinse and repeat of Monday. The
exception is south-southwesterly flow will be a bit stronger as
the other low tracks through the northern Great Lakes. Expecting
winds between 10-20 mph during the afternoon especially across
northern and western areas. In short, Tuesday has the `classic`
spring-like set-up where temps will vastly over-perform compared
to any model guidance. With this in mind and slightly better
mixing expected, have forecast highs mainly in the upper 60s to
low 70s across interior locations and mid 50s/low 60s across the
higher terrain and along the coast. There also will be an
increased risk for fire spread.

/TUESDAY NIGHT THROUGH THURSDAY/...
Low pressure passing north of the area will drag a cold front
through the region Tuesday night. Since all of the upper level
support will be well north of the area, not expecting any
precipitation with its passage. A cooler airmass spreads into
the region for Wednesday with highs some 10 degrees cooler
compared to Tuesday.

High pressure then builds into eastern Canada Wednesday night
and Thursday, with the base of the high down by New Jersey. A
weak cold front passes through the region Wednesday night, and
this may tough off some light rain showers, with some light snow
showers in the southern Poconos. Not much, if any QPF and/or
snowfall is expected. This will set up onshore flow that, given
ocean temperatures in the low to mid 40s, should result in highs
in the 50s for most areas, though inland areas should get into
the 60s. One thing to monitor is that projected dew points look
to be in the mid 40s or so, and if these dew points are at or
above ocean temperatures, there could be fog issues, especially
along the coasts.

We here in South Hunterdon County are not exempt from Wildfires as we saw recently in Hopewell with that large brush fire. As with life we should plan for Emergencies and not wait till they happen. You do not have to spend a lot of money or have monthly family evacuation drills. Just read up on information the State Forestry and the National Weather Service provide so you will have a better ideal if an event happens you will know what to do. Sometimes it is better to shelter in place vs evacuation and these are the
things you can learn from reading up on these events. Just like being prepared for Hurricane Season when the notice go out of the possibility of Brush Fires you will be ready.

07/03/2025

Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Mount Holly NJ
306 PM EST Fri Mar 7 2025
SYNOPSIS...
A weakening disturbance crosses our area later tonight into
early Saturday morning. A weak area of low pressure tracks well
to our north Sunday night into Monday, then a stronger low
tracks well to our north again Monday night into Tuesday pulling
a warm front north of our area. An associated cold front will
then settle into portions of our area Tuesday night and
Wednesday before going back northward as a warm front. A cold
front from the west should then move through late Thursday into
Friday.

/THROUGH SATURDAY/...
Gusty winds will persist over the next few hours before diminishing
rather quickly late afternoon/early evening, especially after sunset
tonight. Wind gusts will likely linger in the 25-35 mph range before
falling to around 10 mph overnight (Poconos are expected to still
see gusts reach 15-20 mph).

/SATURDAY NIGHT THROUGH MONDAY NIGHT/...
A warming trend will commence on Sunday and Monday.

The influence of an upper-level trough across eastern Canada will
gradually lift more toward the northeast and therefore the flow
aloft becomes less cyclonic with time. There will still be
northwesterly flow aloft however and this will steer a fairly strong
shortwave across New England. This feature may toss more cloudiness
for a time mostly across our northern areas later Sunday into
Monday. It appears though that with the forcing for ascent well
north of our area and dry air, we should remain precipitation free
despite some increased cloudiness for a time. As this occurs, a
potentially strong shortwave trough sliding across the Gulf coast
states and then off the Southeast U.S. coast Monday night will
support surface low pressure. These features are currently forecast
to slide well to our south, although some high level cloudiness
could get pulled far enough northward for a time into parts of
our area late in the weekend into early next week.

Tonight: A chance of showers, mainly before 3am. Increasing clouds, with a low around 33. West wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

☔️ Tuesday Morning Weather Update ☔️

Rain showers are expected this morning as a frontal boundary moves through our area. The rain should be out of the area by lunchtime with total rainfall amounts of a quarter of an inch or so are expected.

Our weather on Wednesday should be nice as an area of high pressure briefly sets up shop. We should see mostly sunny skies with highs in the 40s and 50s.

Unfortunately, the weather for Thanksgiving is not looking good. Rain showers are expected in our area throughout much of the day with total rainfall amounts of half of an inch to one inch are expected. Look for temperatures to reach highs in the 40s with an easterly breeze making things feel colder.

Looking ahead, temperatures are expected to take another step toward winter with the coldest airmass of the season settling in. High temperatures in our area over the weekend are expected to be in the upper 30s to lower 40s with lows in the 20s. It might be a good time to go and find that winter jacket!

As always, I will continue to keep a very close eye on things and will update the page accordingly.

Good evening! It remains tranquil across the area through this evening before some showers move through late tonight into Tuesday morning. This is system number 1. A stronger system then arrives for Thanksgiving Day bringing rain for most with some wet snow possible in the higher elevations of the southern Poconos.

🔥 Fire Restrictions Lifted Statewide

Following substantial rainfall overnight, the New Jersey Forest Fire Service has lifted fire restrictions statewide.

Although restrictions have been lifted, the Forest Fire Service asks that New Jerseyans do not become complacent and continue to be careful when using fire.

☔️❄️ No major changes to the forecast through Friday. Snowfall amounts did increase a bit in NW NJ, prompting a Winter Weather Advisory there. If you're near and especially north of I-78, give yourself some extra commute time in the morning, as roads could become slushy or snow covered!

Rain lifting north this evening, changing to snow tonight into the morning, then precip shifting south Friday. Much of the Philly metro and south should be mostly dry overnight before precip returns on Friday. Any snow will likely change back to rain by late morning outside of the mountains.
