Police busts an inter-state gang of carjackers in Budgam;
_04 persons arrested, 11 vehicles recovered_
July 27: Police in Budgam busted gang of inter-state carjackers by arresting 04 persons involved in the commission of crime.
Acting on specific information, Police Station Khansahib Budgam busted a gang of inter-state carjackers/thieves and arrested 04 persons involved in the sale and purchase of stolen vehicles. The modus operandi of the arrested gang has been to smuggle the stolen vehicles from other states with fake and forged documents and selling the same to the locals at quite cheaper rates.
Accordingly a case vide FIR No. 112/2022 under relevant sections of the law has been registered at Police Station Khansahib and investigation initiated.
During the course of investigation, Police raided several locations and recovered 11 stolen vehicles having forged registration numbers and documents. The vehicles included 03 Maruti Swift cars, 02 Alto K-10, 02 Alto 800, 01 Maruti Baleno, Hyundai Verna and Hyundai Santro each.
The arrested persons have been identified as Arshid Ahmad Ganie resident of Katich Razger, Muneer Ahmad Ganie resident of Khansahib, Mohd Shafi Dar resident of Razwan and Tanveer Ahmad Parray resident of Hawoora. Investigation into the case is going on and further arrests are expected in the said case.

“I became the first man in the world to reach Leh by Chetak Scooter. I started my journey from Hisar. It took me 16 hours to reach Leh from Srinagar via Zojila Pass (One of the coldest places in the world). In Leh, the air was thin with less oxygen. Despite the conditions, I stayed there for two days and applied to the authority to grant me permission to touch the highest road of the world. This picture is from the point in my journey where I successfully touched the highest road in the world during those times. Best part about my journey was my return to Hisar in 42 hours driving continuously for 734 kms. I am almost 60 years old now but this experience continues to bring joy to me even today”

Old sculptures found in district Budgam
_Police hands over them to Department of Archaeology_
July 27: Yesterday afternoon locals of village Gudsathoo Budgam informed Police that they have found some sculpture while digging the land. Police party of District Budgam rushed to the spot and took the possession of sculpture. Accordingly, a team of officers from Department of Archives, Archaeology & Museums, J&K Government were called for examination of the recovered sculpture at District Police Headquarters Budgam. During examination it was revealed that the recovered sculpture is of Lord Vishnu and dates back roughly to 9th Century AD (about 1200 years old). The sculpture is three headed and with four arms having lotus on upper right hand. The sculpture is a mixture of Gandhara and Mathura School of Art.
Similarly another sculpture which was recovered from Khag area by Police Budgam was also examined by the team of Archives, Archaeology and Museums who established that the sculpture is the fragment of Punch Mukh.
Both these sculptures were handed over to Dy. Director, Department of Archives, Archaeology and Museums Kashmir Shri Mushtaq Ahmad Beigh & his team by SSP Budgam Shri Tahir Saleem Khan-JKPS in presence of Director Department of Archives, Archaeology and Museums Kashmir Sh. Pardeep Kumar-JKAS and SHO Police Station Budgam Insp. Aftab Ahmad through proper handing and taking over procedure.
