DA SUSTAINS SUPERIORTY OVER LD1 FOOTBALL RIVAL

Delfin Albano defended its throne as LD 1's god of football after a lapsided 4-0 victory against its archrival Tumauini kickers in their do-or-die match earlier at San Antonio National High School.

The team, represented by the SANHS futboleros, was on the brink of ending their 10-year streak of representing Legislative District 1 in the provincial meet after a heartbreaking loss against Tumauini in the first game of their best-of-three finals match up.

However, DA remained composed coming into the second game as they went on to extend the series with a 2-0 win.

With the momentum on their side and their captain, Nowitzki Aivan Medrano, back on the field after getting suspended in the first two games that made DA short manned, the team striked immediately with a goal from Edrian Pablo, following Andei Evangelista's early dagger, who also scored the first goal for the team on their second meeting.

Coming into the second half, Tumauini tried to make a response with their series of attempts in making it past the full backs of Delfin Albano but remained unsuccessful of touching the back of the net.

It was still DA which was on top with their huge lead up until the later stages of the game and went on to completely shutter their opponents' hope with two more daggers in their hands.

With the victory, DA ends their rubber band title match up once and for all and will move on to represent Legislative District 1 in the next competition.
