Read here Hallbera Fríða West's latest paper, "Faroese self-government:development over time and effects of critical junctures" published in The Polar Journal. This research conducts a comparative case study of two previous critical juncture events and time-periods for the Faroe Islands, one in 1948 and the other in 2005. With the increase tension and focus on the region, there is a sense of 'Deja-Vu' feeling considering the previous historical critical junctures presented in this article, and that there again might be time for change in the institutional settings for Faroese self-government.
