Latergram, here you go! Some of my favorite shots of the excellent indie soul band at the forever iconic , just a couple months ago.
As some of you may know, I mostly direct and shoot video, but I still indulge in stills from time to time.

Make sure to check their sweet and upbeat tunes, recommended by every serious doctor for a good mental health. Even better, catch them live!

A few images of my work on the documentary “Son Of A Dictator - Saif Al Islam Gaddafi’s Comeback » for .tv where I met with Mr. Gene A. Cretz, former US Ambassador in Libya and Mr. Jonathan M. Winer, State Department’s Special Envoy for Libya.

The international version with ENG subs is available and free to watch on until 12/17/2023

This is an excellent investigative feature about Muhammad Gaddafi’s second son who, despite arrest for crimes against humanity, ran for election in Libya.

What a trip to see playing in the capital city at ‘s latest music venue in such an intimate setting (450 people)
I’m so glad I could cover this grand opening, FF being by far one of my favorite rock bands. This was my 8th concert, my first one was many years ago in Paris in 2005.

Last Tuesday, the Foos performed a long set made of their biggest hits including “Everlong”, “The Pretender” and “My Hero”, some new tunes from their upcoming album ‘But Here We Are’, and some deep cuts “New Way Home” or “Aurora” which was dedicated to late drummer Taylor Hawkins.

Many jokes and anecdotes were shared by Dave Grohl, a Northern Virginia native, who attended himself many concerts in his youth at the old 9:30 Club (on F Street), before starting his professional career on the drums in 1986, at the age of 17, with DC hardcore punk band Scream (this is pre-Nirvana!)

Reflecting on his own experience, Grohl said during the opening ceremony: “Hopefully the tradition of the 9:30 Club and local bands, and unknown bands… Young musicians will have a place to come witness music and be inspired to make it on their own”

Here’s a few captures of my work as DP for a new documentary feature on the consequences of space debris 📡🛰️ -produced by and broadcasted on network.

I was fortunate to film and interview, alongside director Liza Fanjeaux, two key figures of the space industry : Walt Everetts, VP of Space Operations at Iridium Communications Inc. and
Joe Anderson, VP of Operations at Space Logistics (a subsidiary of Northrop Grumman)

We discussed the grave dangers of derelict satellites and other orbital junk accumulated around the earth and the exponential risk of collisions 💥🧑‍🚀 -which could jeopardize any future space exploration program. Sadly we are already way too close from any sci-fi drama scenario.

Quick grabs of my interviews with actor Gianni Russo and author-screenwriter Nicholas Pileggi for a feature doc on the making of “The Godfather” 🎬
What a dream job! ✨

Gianni Russo played the character of Carlo Rizzi in Coppola’s 1972 classic movie and acted as a mediator between the producers at Paramount and the Italian mafia who was initially reluctant to have Mario Puzzo’s novel filmed in Little Italy.

Nicholas Pileggi, who was at the time a reporter specialized in organized crime for the New York magazine, was on set to cover the making of the movie. He later wrote the screenplays of two of my favorite films “Goodfellas” and “Casino”, both directed by Martin Scorsese.

Here is another example of how well S-CINETONE picture profile is performing when you need to nail the shots right out of the box with matching color between both cameras and zero post / color grading.

This was shot using FX9 and A7S3 cameras.

I recently got hired to direct an interview at the White House with National Security Council spokesman John Kirby and ‘s Washington correspondent

This 3 camera multi-cam setup had its challenges, not knowing well in advance the room we would be using in the Eisenhower Exec Office building. Also I only had about 45 min to install everything, so it was all about being quick and making it look good at the same time.

Because it was pretty much an out of the box delivery, I opted for the S-CINETONE picture profile on my FX9 as A cam, and on my 7SIII as B cam for the reverse. We used an additional Sony PXW-Z90V camcorder for the wider shot which I slightly color corrected when we cut the interview.

I have to say, I can’t be more pleased with color science, S-CINETONE is a treat when you don’t have the time to shoot in SLOG3 with extended color grading in post.

The whole interview can be seen on / website and on YouTube ➡️ http://f24.my/9GGZ.f

Backstage with at the iconic music venue

With my friend , we filmed and interviewed them yesterday as they are kicking off their US tour in the capital city
🇺🇸🎥🎶

We started in the afternoon with a walk around the monuments at the National Mall with Arnaud and Pierre, before capturing them at rehearsal. Later in the evening, they delivered a great set to the Washington audience filled with catchy grooves and melodies, which included their 2017 hit “Le temps est bon” (a modern twist on Isabelle Pierre’s song of 1971)

Thank you ! 💕

Thank you also to .be and the entire team for having us. Always a pleasure working with you.

Here’s some recent stills done with French rock duo

I immediately got hooked to and ‘s vintage pop meet Joe Hisashi / Kitano soundtracks (thank you Laurent for putting them in my radar).
So naturally and I were quite happy to meet and interview them at , during their first North American tour 🙌🏻

If like me you love sweet and nostalgic melodies 🎶 bands like Air, MGMT and movie soundtracks by master composers Ennio Morricone, Michel Legrand or François De Roubaix, then I highly recommend you give it a listen!

When I can, in between two video projects, I love to go back at shooting stills, since music photography was my first love in my teenage years.

Also I had a lot of fun fiddling around with and for the first time and give it a nice vintage touch. Such a cool plugin to try with many great film stocks and parameters to tweak like film grain, exposure, halation. I opted for some Ektar 25 and Eastman Double-X 5222.
Can’t wait to do more tests!

from the space documentary. Here’s a little insight into how we shot it.

Co-director Damien Vercaemer built a homemade 4-LED light tower system ‘daisy-chained’ and controlled with a master laptop. The entire device was brought to me from France so I could use it creatively for our interview backgrounds. One thing I had to keep in mind about running a series circuit is that any bad wiring would result in a burn out ruining every LED all at once. So no f**k up possible!

I only had one day prior to our first shoot at the Pentagon to practice on my living room and learn how to use it. The point was that I could set it up quickly under a tight schedule with the US Military. Don’t sweat it I told myself over and over again.

Ultimately, I had the amazing opportunity to interview some key figures in the space industry: General Raymond of the US Space Force at the Pentagon, General Dickinson at the Space Command in Colorado Springs, Major General Friedling first commander of the French Space Command, national security expert Dr. Brian Weeden and Paul Graziani, the Chief Executive Officer at COMSPOC in Pennsylvania, a center for space traffic management.

DC residents were told to stay home but one question remains, will violence erupt in the streets tomorrow as Joe Biden will be sworn in as the 46th president of the United States.
Heavy security presence can be seen all around the American capital transforming it into a barricaded fortress.

Strange vibe here in Washington downtown where many streets are being blocked with non-scalable fencing, as potential armed protest are expected in the run-up to Inauguration Day.
National Guard is being deployed to secure the White House and US Capitol perimeter, up to 20.000 soldiers are expected.
