PINCH ME I MUST BE DREAMING !!! You heard it right, crybabies 🤧 The Crybaby Book Club member joining us for the book club session on Crooked Kingdom is none other than Cari Cakes. A part of me still thinks I imagined this whole thing!! 🥺

You guys have no idea how this is such a full circle moment for The Crybaby Book Club! I found Cari’s booktube in 2020 and she was the one who got me back to reading 🥺 She was the reason why I read the Six of Crows duology in the first place. In these difficult times, reading has been my saving grace and I owe Cari for every single moment of joy I felt with each book I’ve picked up ever since. And look where that got me!! I started a book podcast out of that joy! 😭

So, it was such a magical moment for me when I mustered up the courage to invite her to be a guest on the podcast and she actually said yes?!?! 🥺 Shoutout to for the push and for threatening to kick me if I didn’t shoot my shot 🤣

I’m so excited for all of you to listen to our book club discussion on Crooked Kingdom. Crooked Kingdom … the book that roundhouse kicked my heart and triggered a tearful breakdown (see next slide for snippet of said tearful breakdown, leaking this bc I trust you guys with this sensitive material 🤧) It is definitely not for the faint of heart ❤️‍🩹Regardless of the pain I endured while reading this book, it’s up there on my list of *god tier* books. So, I’m so excited to cry about Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo for Book Session No. 4 of The Crybaby Book Club 💓

Not to mention, we have a *VERY* special guest joining us for Book Session No.4 😇 So special that I’m pretty sure this is all a dream and I’ll wake up at some point … any guesses? 😉 Hint: She is a Capricorn like Kaz 🤫

The House In The Cerulean Sea by

Rating: (っ◔◡◔)っ ♥ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ♥

The question “What’s your favorite book of all time?” is typically a difficult question to answer. But from now on, I’ll answer “The House In The Cerulean Sea” in a heartbeat.

The easiest five stars I’ve ever given to a book. This world is a magical and wonderful place because this book exists within it. My life is good and forever enchanted because I’ve read this book.

This book feels like a warm hug after a long day, the exhilarating feeling of seeing the ocean again, or the warmth you feel when you see sunbeam breaking through rain clouds. I would fight tooth and nail for the characters in this book and protect them with all my might. My heart is so full. Brimming with wholesome love and joy. My heart will forever long for the house in the cerulean sea.

P.S. Not to pick a favorite child but Talia and Chauncey are my ACTUAL children 🥺💕

I’m so excited to do a book session on The House In The Cerulean Sea with a very special friend who makes me burn up from the inside out 🥰🔥

Six of Crows is a fantasy novel about six young criminals united by one common goal: to pull off the most dangerous heist in the history of the Grishaverse.

In this book club session, we’re highlighting the strengths of Tayor Jenkins Reid as a writer. And if you’ve read this book, you know her signature move is creating complex and compelling characters and serving plot twist after plot twist 🥲❤️‍🩹
