Wizkid Loses Mum

Nigerian singer Ayodeji Balogun popularly known as Wizkid has lost his mother.

Wizkid's mum, Mrs Jane Dolapo Balogun, died at around 1.30 am, Friday.

Confirming the incident to The PUNCH, Sunday Are, Wizkid's longtime manager said Mrs Balogun died in the early hours of Friday.

'Yes, she died this morning, at about 1.30 am, Sunday Aaare said.

The late Mrs. Balogun is also the mother to two other children, Yetunde Balogun and Lade Balogun.

Sad! Actor Yul Edochie and wife, May, lose their first son, Kambilichukwu

Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie and his wife, May, are bereaved as they lost their first son, Kambilichukwu Leo Yul-Edochie, on Wednesday, March 29.

According to reports, Kambilichukwu had read throughout the night on Tuesday in preparation for his exams on Wednesday. After his examination on Wednesday, he joined his friends to play football. While playing, he slumped and developed a seizure. He was immediately rushed to the Mother and Child hospital where he was confirmed dead.

Kambilichukwu turned 16 in January 2023 and his parents took to social media to celebrate him.

So sad! May his soul rest in peace, Amen.

John Wick' star, Lance Reddick is d£ad

Hollywood actor, Lance Reddick, who got into the limelight after featuring in HBO's "The Wire" and the "John Wick" movie franchise, is d£ad.

Lance's body was discovered at his Studio City home Friday morning, March 18, around 9:30 AM. His cause of d£ath is currently unclear, but it appears to be natural, according to the police.

He was reportedly doing a press tour for the fourth installment of the 'John Wick' franchise where he plays Charon. He was scheduled to make a guest appearance on Kelly Clarkson's show next week.

Lance was best known for playing fictional Baltimore Police Department officer Cedrick Daniels on the hit HBO series “The Wire”, with his character appearing in all five seasons.

He also had recurring roles on a bunch of popular TV shows including "Fringe," "Bosch," "Oz" and "Lost." He was also featured in "Angel Has Fallen" and "Godzilla Vs. Kong."

Lance has some unreleased projects in the works, he plays the Greek god Zeus in the upcoming Disney+ series, “Percy Jackson and the Olympians.”

Born and raised in Baltimore, Lance earned a music degree from the University of Rochester and he got his MFA from Yale. Lance was 60.

Grandmother Mauled To Death By Pitbull She Rescued From Street

A grandmother, Anne Shields, has died after she suffered 'catastrophic' injuries when the pit bull she had rescued suddenly turned on her.

Shields, 67, was mauled by the dog she had taken in as a starving stray, which she called Choccy, at her holiday home in Spain.

Her daughter told The Sun that Shields never intended to keep the dog, but the local animal shelters were full so she opted to care for him "until she found someone who could take him."

The British ex-pat was reportedly an animal lover and "couldn’t bear the thought of throwing Choccy back on the streets."

Police were called to Ms Shields' home in Macastre, near Valencia, after neighbours reported hearing her screams.

Officers shot the dog so the medics could reach the pensioner who had suffered head and arm injuries.

Shields was taken to hospital where she died the next day.

Co**se Of Missing Four-Year-Old Boy Found With Body Parts Removed

The co**se of Eleazar Ishiya, a four-year-old boy declared missing a few days ago, has been found inside a manhole adjacent to Mr Biggs in the Jabi area in Abuja.

A family member said Ishiya was declared missing on Friday, March 3, at Filin Ball, Jabi Daki Biyu.

An eyewitness, Joel Joseph, gave details of the missing parts of the deceased.

Joseph said, “When we saw his body inside the manhole, his grandmother attempted to jump inside but I took hold of her and pushed her away. I jumped inside the pit where I found the body already rotten. His tongue, a**s and ge****ls were chopped off while his eyes were plucked out.

“It’s apparent that his killers are rituals and they might have dumped him inside the pit in the night.’’

The victim’s mother described Ishaya, as “smart” and a nursery one pupil who was the only child of the family.

She said, “On that fateful Friday, Eleazar was about to be bathed. He took a N10 note to buy sweets from a neighbourhood shop and went missing since then.

“I am not disturbed by his death, but rather how horribly he was tortured. I rest my case to God. I don’t know the perpetrators because I am not a spiritual-eyed being. The boy’s blood can infiltrate his heartless killer(s) because he is innocent. They should consider themselves dead already.

“I could not muster the courage to see his defaced body. It was later that I managed to see his body in pictures.’’

1,671 Permanent Voters Cards have been recovered from an apartment in Olodi-Apapa area of Lagos State by personnel of the 9 Brigade of the Nigerian Army.

While three persons were arrested in the apartment, the prime suspect is reportedly on the run. The security operatives also recovered ballot papers, cutlasses and Indian h**p from the apartment.

The Brigade Commander, Brig. Gen. Isang Akpaumontia, who paraded the suspects and recovered PVCs, ballot papers and other items before journalists at the Ikeja Cantonment, said the arrest and recovery were made following a tip-off.

Most of the recovered PVCs had the year 2022 as the registration number, while others had years 2011, 2012 and 2021 with all the owners being residents of Lagos State.

Akpaumontia said;

“Earlier today (yesterday), three young men were arrested with 1,671 PVCs. This was after early information was received. With the support of the Department of State Services, DSS, we were able to arrest them.

“They were arrested with some drugs, dagger, charms and over 1,000 PVCs. They were arrested at the Apapa general area, in a house where we traced them to. The owner of the house, who is the prime suspect, was traced to a hotel. But he took off.

“We are going to hand these suspects and exhibits over to our immediate headquarters to do the needful because things have to be done the way they should, so as to discourage others who think they can take laws into their hands and go scot-free.”
