British Colonizers killed millions of Native Indigenous people by means of germ warfare. Documents from British Colonization leader General Jeffery Amherst boasted in his journal revealing this common practice by the British military. The Canadian Residential schools adopted these tactics to murder the children that attended Canadian Native Residential Schools. According to a report by Dr. Peter Bryce in 1907 and published in the Ottawa Citizen newspaper, two-thirds of the children that attended the schools were dying in their first year of attendance.
