A NEW WORLD AT LAST

There will be no more tears then, nor pain. Wild animals will frolic, not kill. Once again creation will work the way God intended.

Peace will reign not only between God and individuals, but between Him and all creation. The Kingdom comes out into the open. The city of God flings wide its gates.

Revelation ends on a note of great triumph. Somehow, out of all the bad news augured here, good news emerges __ spectacular Good News.

To those who believe, Revelation becomes a book not of fear, but of hope. God will prevail. All will be made new. God speed

HOW TO RESPOND TO SUFFERING

Peter's own experience makes him an ideal counselor. He had been flogged and imprisoned for his own faith, once even expecting ex*****on.

Should the suffering Christians flee or resist? Should anyone who hoped for Christ turn backed, stumbled and escaped?

Should they tone down their outward signs of faith? Give up? Peter had personally watched Jesus endure suffering and in this letter he points to him as an example of how to respond.

Everyone wanted an explanation of the meaning of suffering. Why does God allow it? Does God care?

According to Peter, suffering should not catch a Christian off guard. We are strangers (1:17) in a hostile world and where Christians thrive, storm clouds may gather.

Suffering is an expected part of a life of sincere faith. Suffering is temporary, to be endured only for a little while.

Those who suffer with Christ will also glory with him in a life forever free of pain. Christian goes through great trial.

To Peter's readers - wary of enemies on the prowl, unsure of surviving another day - that message was as tangible and nourishing as food.

Our hope that suffering will one day cease is not a mirage but a "living hope" (1:3) in the One who has conquered death. God speed

THANKSGIVING

1 Corinthians 1:9c "Jesus Christ our Lord, is faithful"

I always thank God for you because of his grace given you in Christ Jesus. For in him you have been enriched in every way __ in all your speaking and in all your knowledge __ because our testimony about Christ was confirmed in you.

Therefore you do not lack any spiritual gift as you eagerly wait for our Lord Jesus Christ to be revealed. He will keep you strong to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

God, who has called you into fellowship with his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, is faithful. God speed!

WHEN WILL JESUS RETURN?
.."For as lightning that comes from the East is visible even in the West, so will be the coming of the Son of Man..." Matthew 24:27

Matthew 24 records one of Jesus' longest statements about the future.

Jesus gives direct clues to events that will precede His second coming.

But, notably, almost half the chapter consists of warnings that no one can predict the precise time of His coming.

PETER's HIGHS AND LOWS

"You are the Christ, the Son of the living God" Matt. 16:16

The disciple Peter earned a reputation for impulsiveness, and this chapter shows him at his very best and very worst.

He won highest praise for discerning Jesus' true identity, but in the very next scene he made one of his biggest blunders.

He wanted Jesus to avoid pain, not understanding that the pain of the cross would bring salvation to the whole world. God speed

Matthew 8:1 " When He came down from the mountainside, large crowds followed Him"

Typically, Matthew blends together Jesus'words and actions.

Chapters 5 to 7 contains Jesus' longest recorded speech, the Sermon on the Mount---a speech that greatly affected the audience.

The next few chapters mention ten miracles performed by Jesus,
which further established his authority.

The moment God steps in miracles happens.

God's Words exploit power, and explicit actions in a precised notable deeds.
