Let's Talk with Sanctuary is a podcast for women, specifically women in ministry and in leadership.
Let's Talk with Sanctuary is a podcast for women, specifically women in ministry. It's our firm belief at Sanctuary that isolation is the Number One tool that the enemy is using to take down women in leadership. Through this platform it is Sanctuary's endeavor to open the conversation with off-limits topics, share some love, laughter, and encouragement, and inspire more authentic conversation among ministry wives.

Jesus is the answer. What is the question?
You can’t solve all the problems of those you lead or love, but you can keep pointing them to Jesus.
He is the Answer.

“Ministry Myth #3: My children need to be perfect or behave flawlessly.
While it’s true that modeling Biblically-based parenting where the parents are efficiently leading and training up their children is a leader’s responsibility, no parent, preacher or otherwise, is perfect, nor are their children perfect. Raising children in the glass house of ministerial leadership raises a lengthy list of challenges, above and beyond those of parenting in the 21st century alone. And while we cannot provide an exhaustive teaching on this in a few paragraphs, consider the following assurances and tips for taking the pressure of perfection off of you and your children.”
There’s a BRAND NEW 2-MINUTE MICROBLOG entry in WEEK 3 of our Monday Ministry Mythbusters series at Sanctuary’s site.
Let’s bust another ministry wife myth!

Even spiritual leaders can be taken in by fear tactics, “facts”, theories, + musings that challenge what they know to be Truth. Require yourself to shut off, or minimize, the flow of information bombarding your mind + zero in on the Truth of God’s Word. Silence the voice of the enemy and amplify the voice of the Spirit. Run from fear into the presence of the God of this Universe.
“He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” For He will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with His pinions, and under His wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness is a shield and buckler. You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor the destruction that wastes at noonday.”
Psalm 91:1-6 ESV

“Most of us would deny we are pursuing perfection because we know it’s truly impossible to achieve. And yet we still, sometimes even subconsciously hold ourselves to such lofty standards. (All the recovering perfectionists are shakily raising their hands to testify! Mine included.) When it comes to embodying that Proverbs 31 status, it seems that “a woman should and can have it all”. But does she have to have it, or do it, all right now? I don’t believe so.”
Let’s bust up Myth #2 in our Monday Mythbusters spring microblog series for ministry wives!

Some days you just have to remind yourself of your WHY. Why do I stay in the ministry? If I wasn’t married to the preacher, would I stay in ministry? Would I show up this Sunday?
Why do you do it?
Let’s go back in time to the day God called you—whether that’s to salvation, to ministry, or even to marry your spouse. Share your ‘when God called me’ story with us in the comments today.
Let’s remember the WHY.

Why is there foolish, selfish snobbery between ministers of the Gospel?
Let’s grow.
“IN OUR HUMAN RELATIONSHIPS, WHEN WE BECOME ACUTELY AWARE OF BEING IN THE PRESENCE OF CHRIST, OUR FOOLISH, SELFISH SNOBBERY AND RIVALRY WILL END.”—Phillip Keller

“Sometimes when I’m speaking with a ministry wife about Let’s Retreat, their response includes ‘That sounds amazing!’ followed by ‘…and scary!’ It can be intimidating for ministry wives to attend something they’re not in charge of, or where they aren’t surrounded by ‘their people’. But what we also hear on the other side of that gutsy decision to attend is ‘This is something I didn’t even realize I needed or that I would love.’ Taking that leap is always worth the risk, every single time.”—Bridgette Tomlin
What are you afraid of? It’s possible that you haven’t even considered Sanctuary’s Let’s Retreat because it requires a little discomfort. And that’s okay. But take the risk. We know, you’re gonna discover: Let’s Retreat is worth the risk. And it’s the perfect getaway you didn’t even know you needed.
Learn about Let’s Retreat. Stop by Sanctuary.

DOING is secondary to BEING. How is your “being”? If your desire is to live, and move, and be IN HIM, in the fear or reverence of God, you are a woman worthy of praise; you are a noble woman.
Let’s reverence Him.

Let all the to-do’s, have-to’s, and requirements you’ve placed on yourself or inherited from your predecessors fade in importance today. First, ‘Follower of Christ’. Second, all the tasks.
Let’s keep Jesus as the main thing in view.

What do you need? Sometimes we grow so accustomed to leading others to the Source in an effort to meet their needs that we overlook: He is our Source, too! Jesus is enough! Call on Him today to meet you at the point of YOUR need.

Sow for where you want to go. If you desire to see a culture of healthy accountability + ‘bearing one another’s burdens’ in the community, church, or ministry circles you lead, lead by modeling accountability in your own life—personally + ministerially.
