The Teacher's Desk This page is for the podcast The Teacher’s Desk! We discuss all things related to teaching, learning, and the classroom. What is it like in today's classrooms?

What keeps these teachers coming back? It's all about teaching, but anyone is welcome!

As teachers, we work to become professionals at adaptation. We adapt to a constant flux of student needs, first and foremost, but we also learn to adapt to those external forces we cannot control.

But this… this is too much.

Harm against children is an affront to our shared citizenship. It’s against a value that most all of us share through a myriad of cultural, spiritual, political, and social views. Schools are flawed and imperfect, but they are one of the most important institutions in our society, and they must, I say MUST be free from threats against its population.

Our hearts go out to the families of those lost and affected by this tragedy.

I’ll be on a show today called CANCELLED on FB, reading some poetry, talking about the podcast, and giving a shoutout to all the wonderful teachers on this Teacher Appreciation Week!

https://www.facebook.com/copiouslove/live/

The show CANCELLED is itself a fundraiser for artists around Seattle that need financial help due to the effects of COVID-19, so if you can, consider donating! (I am not receiving funds, just donating time).

Copious Love Productions seeks to amplify traditionally marginalized voices through emotionally truthful, psychologically deep, and authentic storytelling.

Hello listeners! Thank you for a great debut for the podcast, The Teacher's Desk! Please share your thoughts and ideas!

I also wanted to say, I hesitated for a moment about debuting a few days ago, because people all over the world are focused on other, much more important issues than listening to some podcast about teaching. However, what I believe is that for some people, a distraction from those important issues can be nice. If The Teacher’s Desk does that for half a dozen people, then it is all worth it.

Another reason that I am excited to share this podcast is for my interviewees. I ask people that I admire to share their views, and the results are a clear look at what caring, and hard working teachers are like. I for one find their authenticity refreshing.

Thank you again for listening! Please FOLLOW the podcast from whatever platform you listen on (Spotify, TuneIn/Alexa, etc), and please SHARE with anyone that might enjoy the distraction.

Welcome to The Teacher's Desk! This is the FB page for the podcast of the same name. We talk about teaching, and why we teach, what it is that brings us back every day, and possibly a bit of why we may question going back! Most episodes feature an interview with another teacher or education professional. Enjoy!
