Oktava MK-012 - Another secret weapon from our Mic locker ....
Steve Albini, a legendary music producer known for his work with bands like Nirvana, Pixies, and PJ Harvey, is known to be a big fan of the Oktava MK-012 microphone. In fact, he has praised the mic for its "honest" and "accurate" sound, and has used it to record drums on some of his most iconic albums.

In an interview with Tape Op Magazine, Albini said: "I have a bunch of the Oktava small-diaphragm mics, and they're really honest. They're not hyped in any way. They're accurate and they give you what's there. I've used them for drum overheads and they work really well. They're just really well-made mics."

High praise indeed from a producer who is known for his no-nonsense approach to recording and engineering!
