If you've realized accounting isn't for you, you won't be throwing away your degree by making a career change.
However, you WILL be throwing away the next 40 years of your life by staying in the wrong career just because you spent 4 years studying for it.
Making a career change doesn't negate all of the experience and credentials you've accumulated over the past few years. If you know it's not right for you, it's time to start thinking about other options.

Idk who needs to hear this, but it's OK to leave public accounting before you hit 3+ years or before you make senior/manager.
If our podcast guests are an indicator of anything, it's that everyone has a different career path.
✔️Some leave public accounting and go to industry.
✔️Some leave accounting for a different career path altogether.
✔️Some stay in Big 4 for less than 2 years, while others stay 3+ years.
But they all seem to have one thing in common…
They found themselves happier, less stressed, and more fulfilled after they left.
If your job is making you feel miserable, anxious, and burned out - leaving sooner rather than later might be the best move not just for your mental health, but for your career as well.
