Sooo going on a social media diet during a pandemic and a civil rights movement is prob not the best look. Lol
For my mental health, and private life events my therapist recommended that I do the impossible and avoid expressing myself through it as much as I could.
Having said that...
I’ve waited 30 days to sate how disappointed I am in law enforcement. I’ve witnessed police brutality since I came to this country. I was raised in LBC and CPT... bounced back and forth through my pr***en years and eventually settled near Jordan Highschool.
From the beginning I was warned by my parents and taught by my experiences in that community. Not a week went by without seeing or hearing about a friend’s brother being detained for breathing in the wrong area at the wrong time. Your relationship with death becomes neutral ... and you begin to wonder why no one cares... you begin to believe that perhaps you are born with a natural sin.
I wouldn’t be who I am if it weren’t for the black and mixed Samoan and black communities that embraced me when I came to this country. Sometimes even more than my own people.
If by now, you don’t understand why we say “BLM” and you feel the need to say “all lives matter”, please unfollow me right now and let me know via dm that our relationship can’t continue. I will do a better job at describing my stance on all the issues that have been spotlit in the last month, from the perspective of an immigrant, a business owner, and a minority. But for now... it’s BLM and that’s it .... period.
Having said that... instead of showing you how much I hate cops right now... I’m going to show you how grateful I am for some of the most influential black men that have crossed my path. I wouldn’t be who I am, and the culture wouldn’t be the same if it weren’t for their contributions. I want you to take a look at these Kings ... all images shot by ya boi of course. BLM on God ...
Ima be posting more camera roll dumps, and yes I’ll be posting more of my opinion and more beautiful black men and women this month. 🖤you all. @ United States
