For Black History month, I decided to take some time to talk about how my own education failed me, why I believe we still haven't done enough to properly teach about black history, and why we need to change that.

Black History is American History yet black history is often neglected, cast aside, or in some cases flat out banned. Since it is Black History month I figured it's time I talk about how the US education system has failed all of us especially when...

This week I'm sharing my thoughts surrounding the killing of Tyre Nichols. This is a particularly sensitive subject, but one that we must keep discussing until we as a society can finally address the systemic problems that enable these senseless murders from occurring all too regularly.

This week I'm reacting to the shocking events surrounding the killing of Tyre Nichols and what we as a society need to do differently so these all too common situations stop happening.

With 11 states (so far) introducing legislation to restrict the rights of transgender people, I feel it's about time to call out the illogical conclusions these despicable legislators draw and encourage people to use their voices to be a good ally.

No Kenny Loggins this week, instead I'll be discussing transgender rights, how certain groups in the US are seeking to take those rights away, and how rainbow symbolism for those people have devolved into something way more sinister than it actual...

This week I'm tackling a lot of the controversy going on in the D&D community. Time to get nerdy!

This week I talk about the Open Game License, how Wizards of the Coast has potentially done irrevocable damage to the D&D brand, and what other content creators think about potential changes to a system they've relied on for decades.

This week I focus on small businesses - what they need to offer to compete with larger chains, how they fail, and a few examples of small businesses that succeeded and others that teeter on the brink of failure.

This week I'm talking about small businesses, how they succeed, why they fail, and whether or not they are worth supporting.

Happy New Year! Time for a little rant about why I find reviews to be arbitrary, borderline useless measures to judge popular products, why it's much more effective for small or lesser known things, and what I'd prefer to see implemented as a review standard.

Happy New Year! To kick off 2023, I'm discussing why I find reviews arbitrary and pointless as well as why they can be difficult to trust.

No new episode this week. Back next week with more rantings and ramblings. Hope you all had a wonderful holiday!

Tis the season for the worst Christmas narrative of all time. Nobody is trying to take away Christmas, we just recognize that not everyone celebrates Christmas and prefer to be inclusive. All this and more in my festive rant!

I hope you're ready for a rant because this week I'm tackling the conservative "War on Christmas" narrative they seem to want to rehash every single year. There is no War on Christmas, conservatives are not victims in a liberal conspiracy, and if ...

Sometimes things get pretty overwhelming and activities we used to do for fun seem almost unbearable. We've all experienced burnout before at some level, so why not talk about it? That's what's in store for everyone this week! Enjoy!

This week I ask for help to talk burnout - my thoughts about how it was handled in the past, some of the parenting situations that contribute to it, and why social media seems to exacerbate it. Also covered - why it's ok to be selfish, allowing yo...

This week I watch Jingle All The Way so you don't have to! Listen as I describe the entire plot of the movie, some of the best one-liners, and all the ways it doesn't make any sense whatsoever. Enjoy!

This week I'm watching my favorite Christmas movie, Jingle All The Way, and talking you through it. Why? Because it's an awful movie and you shouldn't have to spend an hour and a half watching it. Let some do**us like me who actually likes it give...

All this talk about respecting people's culture when they really mean "let them hurt others with impunity" got me thinking about cultural relativism - featuring special guest Rebecca to share in my ramblings this week! Enjoy!

Special guest Rebecca joins us this week to discuss people using "culture" as an excuse to be cruel to others. The lesson here is don't be cruel to others.

29/11/2022

This week's episode will feature a series regular guest and a complex topic. It should make for a fun conversation!

"Gee look at the time we really ought to be going"
You're welcome in advance!

More World Cup controversy as FIFA are threatening to sanction players for trying to promote inclusivity. I cannot believe that in the short time since my recording, FIFA and Qatar have found even more ways to ruin what should have been a unifying tournament by backing hate. Despicable.

18/11/2022

Yesterday I published my piece on the corruption and human rights violations associated with the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. I thought SURELY that would be the end of the controversies with the tournament starting in 2 days. Well now they've banned alcohol sales at the stadium despite forcing Brazil to sell it in 2014 and there are reports that Qatar is bribing Ecuador to lose the opening fixture. What a joke.

The World Cup begins this Sunday and I've taken the time to compile everything you should know about the host country, the bidding process, and what we can do, as fans, to ensure future tournaments are more palatable.

This week Steve dives in to the many controversies surrounding the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, how it was allowed to take place, and what we can do to make sure we hold future countries to a much higher standard.

14/11/2022

In preparation for the World Cup starting on Sunday, this Thursday I'll be bringing you a deep dive on Qatar, their bid for the right to host the tournament, and the many, many controversies surrounding it.

Spoilers ahead for Netflix's new adaptation of All Quiet on the Western Front. I provide an instant reaction to watching the movie and all the horrors within. War is a terrible thing after all, and this movie doesn't shy away from showing the audience exactly that.

Minutes ago I finished watching the 2022 film All Quiet on the Western Front, got on my computer, and recorded my thoughts on the powerful imagery and messages from the film. Plenty of movie spoilers ahead, but the content makes for an important c...

07/11/2022

This week's episode will focus on the relatively new movie All Quiet on the Western Front. The book has been around for almost a century and there have been a few adaptations since then, but if you're planning to listen and want to avoid spoilers you might want to make some time to watch it before Thursday.

This one has been a long time coming - we're talking abortion, the lunatics who push the deliberately misleading "late term abortion" rhetoric, and why reproductive autonomy matters.

With the mid-term election right around the corner, Steve brings back special guest Rebecca to discuss abortion, why the rhetoric around anti-choice is BS, and what we can do to address some of the gaps in our society.

Are you getting texts, calls, and fliers for local candidates running for positions you know nothing about? You're not alone, but some of these can be just as important as what goes on in DC. I present my thoughts on local elections. Enjoy!

This week Steve goes on a rant about the importance of local elections, why you shouldn't blindly support the name you recognize or the party affiliation, and how mail-in voting has improved the way you can approach these local issues.
