Champ and Major Biden joined the President and the First Lady at the White House on Sunday, "The First Family wanted to get settled before bringing the dogs down to Washington from Delaware. Champ is enjoying his new dog bed by the fireplace and Major loved running around on the South Lawn," the White House statement reads.

The power of social media, after an appeal on the Garda Southern Region page to find Ruby the springer spaniel who was stolen from her county Cork home, a woman in the UK spotted the dog for sale on a website. With some assistance from Somerset Police, Ruby was recovered and made the 500km journey via Rosslare to her family just in time for Christmas.

Emergency medical services supervisor Robby Vargas-Cortes had an engagement ring taped to his arm when he attended his boyfriend Eric Vanderlee's office for his Coronavirus vaccine. The South Dakota hospital where the proposal took place shared the video to Facebook writing, “Robby got his vaccine – and an enthusiastic yes from his now-fiancée. Congratulations, Eric and Robby!”

Each year thousands of letters pour into U.S. Postal Service addressed to Santa at the North Pole. But this year the Santa letters detail the impact that the COVID-19 pandemic has had upon some children. Some like Barron addressed Santa directly in his letter asking him to “make the Coronavirus go away”, while others spelled of the loss that many families have experienced, such as Lilly who wrote, "I have not had a good year my grampa died and I could not see him because of covid. I miss him and his big hugs." The letters are part of Operation Santa, which can be accessed online and gifts can be purchased for the children sending them.
