Chandrayaan-3 The Space Mission |Success Of Chandrayaan-3 | India On Moon
Chandrayaan-3 is the third lunar mission of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). It was launched on July 14, 2023, by the Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle Mk III (GSLV Mk III) from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh. The mission's primary objective is to soft-land a lander and rover on the surface of the Moon's south pole.
The lander is called Vikram, and the rover is called Pragyaan. Vikram is equipped with a number of instruments, including a camera, a magnetometer, and a seismometer. Pragyaan is equipped with a drill, a spectrometer, and a camera.
The mission's secondary objectives include studying the Moon's geology, mineralogy, and exosphere. The mission will also search for water ice in the Moon's polar regions.
Chandrayaan-3 successfully soft-landed on the Moon's south pole on August 23, 2023. This is a major achievement for ISRO, and it makes India the fourth country to soft-land a spacecraft on the Moon.
The mission is expected to last for one year. During this time, Vikram and Pragyaan will conduct a number of scientific experiments. The data collected from these experiments will help scientists to better understand the Moon's formation and evolution.
