A new foodie spot for your Far South Coast Summer sojourns… in the lovely rolling green hills between Bermagui and Cobargo.

Hey all, Please find attached our menu for our opening.
The lunch menu is for the weekend of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd of November.

We aren’t offering breakfast or dinner at this stage, but we will let you all know when we do.

As we find what works and what the crowd pleasers are, we may change the menu. The menu will also change due to the avaibility of produce.

We will also be expanding our menu to cater for allergies and intolerances over the next few months.

It sure is!!

From 🍽️ As most of you have guessed we are OPENING A KIOSK AT PAMBULA BEACH Surf Life Saving Club. Details 👇

For a different kind of life saving we will be serving ONA Coffee, iced matcha, cold drinks, snacks & snags on selected days.

We are popping up at the Nippers open day tomorrow, Sunday 20 October from 8.30am til 1pm (a bit earlier if we’re ready!!).

Learn a bit more about Nippers, check out the Surf Club, grab a free sausage sanga, hang at the playground or just get your sunshine & saltwater fix.

After that, we’ll be popping up every now and then until 1st December, when we’ll be opening up in full force with a bit more to offer over summer.

Proper opening hours to come.

A new cafe for Bega, in historic Bismarck House.

Totally gluten free Beyond Cafe has opened to customers, training some very special hospitality workers and serving fresh meals and Sacred Grounds coffee from 8am to 2pm Monday to Friday.

The energetic Ronnie Williams is CEO of new resident enterprise Support Services 2 You, whose offices share the elegant space at the top of Newtown Road… with its gleaming floorboards, pressed tin ceilings and commanding views over the valley and town.

A celiac safe menu for breakfast and lunch, coffee, cakes and desserts features dishes like pancakes, Eggs Benedict, vegetarian and meat burgers, Sheesh Tawook, Filipino meatloaf, pasta and fish & chips, dips and condiments. Also a selection of hearty sandwiches.

Galway’s famous Eyre Square is alive with colour and celebration as Doody proudly joins competitors from around the world, marching towards the with his national flags flying high.

Awaiting them at the festival marquee are the oysters and the shucking table, ready for the World Oyster Opening Championships to begin!

A special thank you to James and the for being there today, showing your support for our champion!

We’ll catch up with the crew tomorrow and get the goss 👏🏼

Posted • We are very excited to be baking for the first time tonight with flour. These are First Nations grains, grown on Yuin Country. James will be using Myamba (Wattle Seed Flour) in a sourdough loaf. I am making a puff dough using Mamadyan Ngalluk ( Dancing Grass Flour) and will fill it with Warrigal Greens & Feta. The colours and smells of these flours are distinctive and beautiful and we can’t wait to bring them to tomorrow morning for everyone to try. We will also have our regular loaves and treats and will be delivering bread to local shops.

Posted • We were thrilled to be awarded Champion at the Fine Food Show at Sydney Royal this year.
Huge shout out to our staff who are all Nelson Lake and Sydney Rock Oyster fanatics.
We’ve had a huge city restaurant and Tathra shop year already but the fabulous oysters from this dedicated crew at the farm just keep on coming!!

Recently the team at popular café Toast Pambula saw an opening when Eden’s ‘Sprout Cafe’ became available.
 
Toast’s Nicky Austin says their food philosophy was always quite aligned and many customers from Eden already travelled to Pambula for Toast’s offering.

Say hello to Toast Eden!

The bright 50 seater, with fresh murals from Chalk Talk, offers a menu of grab and go items and well thought out breakfasts similar to Toast Pambula, with kitchen staff being trained by Toast’s chef Ollie.
 
We can tell you the TOASTies are sensational: crisp, crunchy sourdough toast, scattered with sea salt, oozing cheese and flavour – the truffle tinctured mushroom toasty is a winner, also on the menu is ‘The Cuban’, with coffee-rubbed pulled pork and double smoked ham; a ‘Classic’ of double-smoked ham, cheddar and mozzarella with relish, and an extravaganza of cheese: ‘The Big Cheese’ a combo of cheddar, mozzarella, parmesan and Red Leicester with bechamel thrown in for good measure.
 
There are weekly specials, all with the local lunch crowd in mind, a flavour laden Burrito Bowl for example.
  
And of course, the coffee. Serving well known brand ONA, Nicky works closely with the ONA crew from Canberra and offers deep barista training to her staff.

The focus on coffee at Toast is impressive.

Nicky and chef Ollie Pitcher will split their time between the two locations…

We had a great meal at in Merimbula last night.

Flavours were spot on, with loads of elements, like Yuzu zest, dashi mayo and nori with the very light tempura tuna, a perfectly balanced and textured pork gyoza, and a plate of divine pickles, from robust and spicy to cool and crunchy… and the Ramen broth was something out of this world - flavours deep and comforting.

Plate sizes, selection and vibe is true ‘Izakaya’, a casual place for after-work drinking and eating, similar to a pub, a Spanish tapas bar, or an American saloon or tavern… nailed it!

A glass of fruity, sparkling Sake really created an exclamation point on the palate.

Really just so happy to be having some delicious, local Japanese at last, congrats to the team at Umiko and in particular Chef Kaoro Ito…

Loads more to try on the menu, so more visits definitely planned - Dangaku Eggplant, Port Katsu and Garage Chicken & Squid, Beef Tataki and Agedashi Tofu and another bowl of dreamy Ramen.

After teasing us with Japanese pop ups at the local surf clubs, perhaps J-Bird have found a place to roost!

Open Wednesday to Saturday from 5pm.
Great bar area, a very select menu of Sake to try.
