I'm moving my stream over to YouTube! Nothing is going to change, but I need your help! You are coming with me. My socials are staying the same. I'm even going to keep this page to post updates when I go live over on YouTube.

The thing is, the stream quality and quality of life features on YouTube are so much better...you can even rewind while the stream is live if you want to do a second take! I think it's going to be better for me, and better for you. YouTube will house my livestreams, but also all the other content I plan to make down the road!

Ultimately, what makes streaming fun is YOU GUYS, not the platform. So I need you guys to come with me. I'm not starting anew and replacing you guys! If anything, this might be a way to add MORE Huberts, Amins, Gages, Danis, Lukes, Ayos, Carols, and everyone else!

I will probably be reaching out to you all individually, nagging you to follow me on YouTube and subscribe to notifications so this transition is as seamless as possible. But on the off chance that this post can kick start things for me, here we go!

[SWIPE for Epic transformations]

Happy Holidays and Happy New Year everyone! WOW! What a year! Scrub Gamer was a product of boredom and creative energy with no where to go during an extended stay at home during a new and scary pandemic. I actually hand-drew my first logo, which you can see here, before I even did anything else with streaming. Then DJDarkRoast went home for awhile without his PlayStation and JazzStandard and I wanted to find a way for him to be able to watch along and feel like he was still a part of the crew. And then, well, you know how it goes from there. Somewhere along the way we picked up a sad boi by the name of HomeBoyLaCroix and the 4 piece was complete and this whole streaming turned into a legitimate labor of love!

Here’s to the growth we’ve made this year and here’s to the next year! I got some big things planned and I cannot WAIT to share it with you. Thank you all for helping this project become what it has. Without you, it’d just be me, playing videogames in front of a bunch of blinding lights. But it’s not. Love you all 🥰

For Thanksgiving I slept most of the day. And then I went into the hospital for a 14 hour overnight shift of absolute chaos. For a night like that, I am extremely thankful and extremely lucky to have these two Med-Peds upper levels who have taken me in as one of their own AND a flawless senior who was always nearby to keep me from drowning. I’m tired right now, and about to sleep, but I’m extremely grateful. I hope you all had a wonderful holidays with the ones you love!

BOO! Happy Halloween Friends! Unfortunately I’ve been working nights in the Neonatal ICU so I wasn’t able to do anything for Halloween…but the one and only Kim kept me with her in spirit by dressing up as…me lol.

If you know me, this pretty much sums up my wardrobe. Flannel and soccer pants are standard issue whether I’m in character or not.

Tonight is my last night and I finally have a day off tomorrow after going 12 straight. So Homeboy Lacroix and I are gonna be doing a November 1 Retroactive Halloween stream tomorrow night! Look out for my upcoming story for more details!

HELLO SCRUBBERINOS!

I miss you guys so much! I miss a lot of things these days. 80-90 hour work weeks shouldn’t be a thing…but alas here we are.

I can’t wait to stream again - in the meantime I’m trying to make little content here and there to share things with Scrub Nation and stay connected. I’m working on new content ideas, Merch, and stream overhauls. This keeps me going and excited for the future!

If you’ve caught any of my streams in the past then you know I have MANY hobbies outside of my life as a doctor. Gaming is definitely one of them, but I’d like to share another - MUSIC!

[Merch Monday] Hello there! For this Merch Monday I would like to introduce one of the biggest supporters of the stream - Dani! She is now a dear friend and an extremely important member of Scrub Nation!

The funny thing is, she was actually Kim’s roommate in college and I had met her a few times when Kim and I first started dating. However, we didn’t reconnect until I started streaming last year. She’d drop by most of my streams, if not all of them! You all know I don’t accept donations on my stream, but she still decided to find my Venmo and leave me a generous donation to keep me going. Who does that?? Well, Dani does!

Dani does everything! She grew up playing basketball, volleyball, AND soccer. She kept playing volleyball in college and more recently she started coaching high school volleyball and led her team to becoming state champions!! On top of all of this, she’s a math teacher. So you know it’s no fluke she’s calculating these dubs!

I am so grateful for her company on the stream and while our friendship started on the virtual stage, it is very much real! Thanks Dani!

[Merch Monday] Hello there! It’s Monday so you already know the deal! Today I’d like to reacquaint you with a man who needs no introduction. Real life people may know him as Hope but his more iconic on-stream handle is none other than JAZZSTANDARD.

We first met 4 years ago during the “second look” fair for our medical school and instantly clicked (also I sat in urine that day so I really must’ve impressed him, a story for another time). We decided to be roommates and fast forward to today, we are getting ready to finally move our separate ways.

Over these 4 years he has become more than a friend, but like a brother to me. We’ve made countless memories. We’ve motivated each other to work hard and be successful. He’s easily THE smartest person I’ve ever met in my life. And he’s one of the only people I know who can match my enthusiasm and curiosity, especially for music and technology. When I started streaming, he was in 100%. Playing video games with him over the years has been a specific type of joy I have been searching for since grade school. I’m going to be very sad when we move to Columbus and he moves to Atlanta, but I know that family is forever.

Hope is going to be an Otorhinolaryngologist...or...if you’re a plebeian like me, an Ear, Nose, and Throat Surgeon. That’s THREE surgeons in one! I’ll let you guess how competitive it is to match into that specialty. I’m extremely proud of him and forever jealous that my voice is about 10 octaves higher than his. Love you bro!

[Merch Monday] Hello there! We are back with another Merch Monday! Today I’d like to introduce the legendary - the first and, for some quite time, the only fan of this project. She’s always had my back and always supports the things I get into. She’s going to be an Emergency Medicine doctor so she’s your person for all those medical crises! She holds the record for most streams watched this year, and even when she’s busy she’ll always help my view count by leaving me on in the background. I wanted to be a doctor since I wrote about it in my “autobiography” in the 2nd grade. When I graduated college, my journey did not go as smoothly as anticipated. While my friends quickly moved forward in their medical journeys, I had to apply to medical school 3 times over 4 years before finally getting in.

When I finally got my chance, I decided not to settle for anything less than excellence. I didn’t want to just get by. Fast forward 4 years later...I achieved nothing less than excellence. If you know me or have ever worked with me, you know I have no interest in competing with others. But I desperately needed to prove something to myself - that it was no fluke I became a doctor. And while the drive has been my own, my achievement took a village. My parents and the culmination of their struggle and sacrifice as Indian immigrants. My fiancé and her daily patience and support. My brother (aka Jazzstandard) and our Apt 404, a high output powerhouse with as many achievements as there were hobbies. My amazing friends. My teammates who believed in either elevating each other or crashing together. And the mentors who kept me on track and gave me a target to shoot for, who showed me that kindness, vulnerability, and sincerity go a long way.

It’s the first time in my life I have felt that there was nothing else I could’ve done - but in a good way. I proved what I needed to prove to myself and while I will never stop working hard, I can stop being hard on myself.

And a special thanks to Scrub Nation for patronizing me and joining me on this creative journey. We are coming up on the one year anniversary of this channel and it has been an absolute joy to do this with you all. The next time I stream...it’ll be as “Doctor” Scrub Gamer. See you there...doctor’s orders 😎

[Part 2/2] Video games were definitely my first love as a child but music came shortly after. once asked me if I could choose the one thing my kids would be into, would it be video games or music? I still can’t answer that question...

When we were in L.A., I wanted to explore the rich Rock and Roll history of the Sunset Strip. Nightclubs like the Roxy, Whisky a Go Go, Troubadour, and Viper Room were where so many legendary bands came up or passed through in the 70s-90s, including The Doors, Led Zeppelin, Guns N’ Roses, and The Stooges.

We drove out to Encino where the legendary Sound City Studios is located. This little dive was responsible for some of the most influential records in the last 50 years - Fleetwood Mac, Tom Petty, Nirvana, RHCP, Rage Against the Machine...even contemporary acts like Death Cab for Cutie and Fall Out Boy. It housed the famous “Neve 8028” mixing console, of which there are only a handful left in the world. In recent years the studio has struggled to stay afloat as a mom and pop business but musicians like Dave Grohl of Nirvana and Foo Fighters have supported the place, even going so far as to buying the Neve console to keep it in good shape for musicians to use for years to come. If you’re interested, watch the Sound City documentary written and directed by Dave Grohl featuring musicians from several decades talking about the impact of the studio.

Even though these places were either closed or restricted, it was a sentimental moment for me to see the places that facilitated the music that inspired me as a kid, that drove me to play guitar, that continue to resonate with me today.

[Part 1/2] Scrub Gamer is BACK after a nice mini-vacation! I had so many emotions post-match and I didn’t realize how much I needed a break until I actually took one.

Kim and I flew out to California to attend my cousin’s wedding (downsized to follow COVID precautions) as one of the only vaccinated members of my family. Even though it wasn’t the day we had all originally pictured, it was still one for the books!

We decided to extend our stay by a few more days and just explore the city of Los Angeles. We hiked. We drove. We walked. We ate. We wore shorts! We saw famous people’s houses (but zero famous people). We explored the rich Rock and Roll history of the city. We cut a slick Hollywood deal for the rights and likeness to Scrub Gamer - just kidding about that one.

And now we’re back in Chicago for 2 more months, after which we move to Columbus for the next 4 years. I’m really nervous but we’ll worry about that later. We got some other things to do 🎮👾 Stay tuned!

Sorry for the delay everyone - it’s been a whirlwind of emotions but I am excited to announce that I will be spending the next 4 years doing my Combined Internal Medicine-Pediatrics training at Ohio State-Nationwide Children’s! Not ready to jump into the whole “The” Ohio State bit yet, but I’m so grateful to be a part of the team! Looks like we’ll be moving to Columbus this summer! Congratulations to all my friends, classmates, and fellow fourth year medical students everywhere!
