Before you say sorry, ask yourself this: Are you apologising because you mean it or because you can’t sit with the discomfort of someone being mad at you?⠀⠀
Here’s a confession: half the time I apologize because I mean it but the other half of the time I apologize because I just can’t stand the idea of someone being mad at me. I don’t know why I have such a need for people to like me, but I do. I am very uncomfortable with someone being mad at me.⠀⠀
I’m sharing this with you because being okay with people not liking you is a skill. A skill I personally have to practice every day and something I am now working to uncover the root cause of in therapy. Here’s what I’ve learned so far: People pleasing is a form of manipulation. I’m so afraid of someone being mad at me, I’ll say or do what is required so they’re not. I’m manipulating what they think of me. The only cure for this affliction is 100% honesty. You must be willing to tell the truth and to be your full self if you ever want to be happy and free. It’s not easy.⠀⠀
Right now, for example, I’m dreading a hard conversation I have to have because I know that the person I have to talk to is not going to like what I have to say and that means, in my mind, that they’re not going to like ME. So I get it. But that’s no excuse to not show up as your full self and say what you need to say.⠀⠀

7 HEALTHY MINDSET HABITS THAT GOT ME TO WHERE I AM TODAY🧘🏻‍♀️
📌 Don’t open any kind of a social media for the first hour of your day ➡️ social media has its positive and its negatives but don’t let it consume your life. Wake up, have a coffee, and just be in the moment for 1 hour of your morning☕️
📌 Surround yourself with positive people ➡️ don’t let negative people into your life, instead surround yourself with people who believe in your dreams, encourage your ideas, support your ambitions and bring out the best in you 🤍
📌 Avoid comparing yourself to others ➡️ nothing good comes from self-comparison... YOU. ARE. ENOUGH
📌 Take time to practice gratitude ➡️ spend an hour before bed journaling everything your grateful for, it puts things into perspective & will change your mindset for the better
📌 Reduce technology in the evening & make time for loved ones ➡️ look up from your phone and try talking to your loved ones, real connections matter
📌 Don’t obsess over things you can’t control ➡️ this is a hard one to master but I’ve learnt to accept that what will be will be so there’s no point worrying about what you can’t change 🌞
📌 Everything happens for a reason ➡️ learn to trust that sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together 💫
Hope these little tips help you. I really wouldn’t be where I am today without practicing these daily... I still have a long way to go but practice makes perfect

WHAT TO DO IF YOUR FRIENDS DON’T “GET” YOUR GOALS
This is something my clients struggle with a lot & unfortunately it’s quite prevalent when it comes to health + fitness goals
✔️If you’re making some positive changes in your life to be healthier/ happier/ more body confident (maybe something completely non health + fitness related) then I SUPPORT YOU GUYS but unfortunately the people close to you might not be as supportive as you would’ve hoped😒
With health + fitness it normally looks like uncalled for statements + comments such as:
👉🏼 “you’re too obsessed with how you look”
👉🏼 “you never go out for drinks with me.. you’re no fun anymore”
👉🏼 “there’s more to life than the gym u know”
👉🏼 “u need to eat a burger”
👉🏼 “who are you even trying to impress?!”
This can be SO harmful - it can gradually chip away at your self belief and make you question your goals which you know deep down will make you happier
People don’t do this because they ‘don’t love you’ - it’s most likely because seeing other people chase their goals, improve themselves and reach new levels is *triggering af*🙄
Seeing YOU working on yourself is painful reminder to them that they’re NOT taking action. Maybe they’re insecure because they want to do what you’re doing too, but they’re not ‘ready’ or willing to put in the work. Sometimes its envy/ jealousy or they might fear that you’ll ‘outgrow’ your relationship with them. Or perhaps they just simply can’t understand why you want to chase these goals⠀⠀
🔊 YOUR NO 1 RESPONSIBILITY is YOURSELF and reaching your fullest potential + happiest version of yourself. When you get there, you’re in a much better position to help + inspire everyone else around you!! your life is up to you and you only! People who try to stand in the way or tear you down constantly are not real friends!! Surround yourself with people who cheer you on, support your goals and clap for you 👏🏻 if a ‘friend’ tries to put you down or manipulate you for striving to be a better version of yourself - call them out on it! Tell them it’s YOUR goals and your life and that it’s a bye bye if they don’t have your back👋🏼⠀⠀

2️⃣ La maggior parte delle persone bruciano più di 1400 calorie stando a letto tutto il giorno.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3️⃣ Diversi studi hanno dimostrato che le persone sottovalutano il loro apporto calorico e sovrastimano la loro attività. In altre parole, non una buona combinazione di perdita di peso 😅⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

EMOTIONAL EATING: DO YOU TURN TO FOOD FOR COMFORT? 🍔🍕🍩⠀⠀
Is it a bad day? Stress at work? Anxiety? I’m sure we are all guilty of turning to food for comfort or stress relief in hard times. And guess what... this is completely NORMAL! Studies have confirmed that emotional states can have a huge effect on our eating behaviour (Geliebter, 2003) but why is it food we turn to? Well, food literally releases dopamine (‘feel-good hormone’) 🧬 so it’s no surprise its food that we turn to to make us feel good. But, more often than not, negative feelings & emotions will come straight after 😔 Studies have also reported that negative emotions can lead to feelings of emptiness or emotional void and so food is thought to fill that void and leave us feeling ‘full’ or ‘whole’ again🍿🍫⠀⠀
One thing to bear in mind though, is that physical hunger and emotional hunger can be confused with each other🤯Emotional hunger is identified as: very sudden hunger, cravings for certain foods, binge eating, not feeling full & feeling guilty after eating. Whereas physical hunger is slower to develop, desires are varied, you will feel full after eating and no negative feelings are experienced afterwards. Being able to identity these signs before it happens will help you to understand whether you are emotionally hungry or physically hungry and hence allow you have more control over your next action.⠀⠀
My tips on controlling/avoiding emotional eating:⠀
1️⃣If it has happened, don’t waste time feeling guilty about it. This won’t get you anywhere so accept that it happened and move on from it!!⠀
2️⃣Get out for a walk & listen to a podcast - if you’re stressed this will help to clear your head & help you relax🧘‍♂️⠀
3️⃣Call/visit a friend - do something that makes you happy but will also distracts you from turning to food ⠀
4️⃣Write down how you are feeling and try to identify if this is an emotional hunger or physical hunger and address the issues by talking to someone you love 📝⠀⠀
Don’t beat yourself up for turning to food for comfort. It’s so normal but the important thing is to notice when it happens and identity your triggers to prevent it happening again! Hope this helps

STOP SCROLLING and just take a second to acknowledge all that you have achieved so far. You have been wanting to make changes in your life for some time now and all your efforts count
If there’s one thing I have learnt over the years, it’s that strength comes in many forms and sometimes just having the courage to say ‘I can do this’ is all the strength you need. I’ve also learnt that we all wake up with the same demons we went to sleep with, but having the strength to fight them once again... well that’s the definition of bravery my friends. Don’t ever suffer in silence because you are not alone in this & I’m pretty sure if you ever look behind, you’ll see that everyone is rooting for you to succeed. You’ve got this 🖤

The only real apology is behaviour change. If they keep saying sorry for the same thing over and over and over again— they probably aren’t actually sorry and they might just be saying it to absolve themselves of guilt. But the truth is, if they were actually sorry, they’d make the effort to change their actions.⠀

If they won’t change, you have too. Decide what you’re willing to put up with, and what you won’t, and set boundaries accordingly.⠀
