A bill for An Act to Provide for the Establishment of National Institute of Vocational and Technical Education Omor, Anambra State and for Related Matters (HB 2075) sponsored by Hon Barr Vincent Ekenedilichukwu Ofumelu has been considered by the committee of the Whole, as it awaits third reading.

The Talk and Do Legislator, has maintained that his commitment to processing pro-poor and people centered legislations that impacts on the lives of his constituents and Nigerians is a task that is sacred and must be accomplished.

On Thursday 6th April 2023, " A Bill for an Act to Establish Federal University of Agriculture Umerum, Anambra State to a Comprehensive Provisions for it's Due Management and Administration; and Related Matters (HB. 1658) sponsored by Hon Barr Vincent Ekenedilichukwu Ofumelu, member representing the good people of Oyi/Ayamelum Federal Constituency was read for the third time and passed.

Indeed, The Talk and Do Honourable is doing absolutely well at the National Assembly.

***AS COMMITTEE ON AGRICULTURAL COLLEGES AND INSTITUTIONS PRESENTS REPORT ON A BILL FOR AN ACT TO ESTABLISH FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF AGRICULTURE, UMERUM ANAMBRA STATE.

Yesterday, 5th April 2023 at the plenary of the House of Representatives, the Chairman of Committee on Agricultural Colleges and Institutions, Hon Munir Babba Dan Agundi Presented a report on the "Bill for an Act to Establish Federal University of Agriculture Umerum, Anambra State to a Comprehensive Provisions for it's Due Management and Administration; and Related Matters (HB. 1658) and approved the recommendation therein" (laid 29/6/2022).

The report on the bill was considered today on the floor of the House.

This is one of the realistic Bills, Hon Barr Vincent Ekenedilichukwu Ofumelu, member representing Oyi/Ayamelum Federal Constituency has presented at the National Assembly.

A Bill for an Act to Establish Federal Institute for Diving Technology, Anaku Ayamelum Local Government Area of Anambra State Charged with Responsibility to Provide Full-Time Courses in Deep Sea (Ocean) Diving Studies and for related matters (Establishment) Bill 2022 (HB 2099) sponsored by Hon Barr Vincent Ekene Ofumelu, member representing the good people of Oyi/Ayamelum federal constituency, Anambra State scaled through second reading on the green chamber Thursday 19th January 2023.

This Bill was read for the first time on Tuesday 22nd November 2022(HB 2099)

This Bill seeks to provide and encourage the Advancement of learning and research, while giving people the rare opportunity of acquiring a higher education in diving technology.

Anaku is a town surrounded by water and their major economic activities centered majorly on water. hence the need to create academic and professional programmes leading to the awards of Diplomas, Higher National Diplomas and other deserving certificates in diving and related fields of study in diving.

This is the 5th Bill presented at the floor of the National Assembly sponsored by Hon. Barr. Vincent Ofumelu.

Indeed Oyi/Ayamelum federal constituency is currently experiencing an impactful representation in the green chambers of the National Assembly.

NEW YEAR MESSAGE

Let Us Start The Year With love and hope for a better Nigeria – Ofumelu

The member representating the law abiding people of Oyi/Ayamelum Federal Constituency, Hon. Barr. Vincent Ekene Ofumelu has admonished Nigerians to show love to one another as they step into the New Year.

The Anambra lawmaker made this call in his New Year message, which was signed by his Special Assistant on Media, Mr. Ifeanyi Benjamin on Saturday, December 31, 2022.

Hon. Ofumelu while congratulating his constituency and Nigerians for seeing the year 2023, thanked God for the Grace which he showed the people, to go through the difficult times of the year 2022, with its attendant economic and social challenges.

He charged them to be hopeful, especially since the year 2023 is an election year in the country and it’s an opportunity for them to use their electoral power to decide the faith of Nigeria through their permanent voter cards.

“My dear people, I congratulate us all for the grace and mercy of God for us to see this new day and the beginning of another year.”

“I know the outgone year had been difficult for every one of us. It was tough, It was a year when the cost of living rose to an unbearable state, most of our crops and properties were damaged by flood, but we were able to go through it to see the year 2023.”

“The situation had not changed, but I will urge you to have hope. As you will now have the power in the next few weeks to personally take action to change the precarious condition which now faces us with the economic and social pains of the high cost of living and deplorable security challenges.”

The Talk and Do legislator also noted that, his representation has attracted projects in all the communities in the Constituency and more to come when re-elected.

"My representation has attracted projects in all the communities across Oyi and Ayamelum, my constituents were employed in various federal ministries, while some were empowered and I want to assure us that more dividends of democracy will be attracted to our people when re-elected.

Ofumelu Inaugurates Campaign Council, Charges Them With Collective Victory In 2023.

Ahead of the 2023 general elections and with INEC lifting the ban on political campaigns, the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party and member representing Oyi/Ayamelum Federal Constituency, Hon. Vincent Ekene Ofumelu, ESQ, yesterday inaugurated his campaign council.

The event, which took place at the constituency office of the lawmaker, at Nteje, had ardent supporters and members of the People’s Democratic Party in the Federal Constituency make the list of campaign council with Chief Vincent Izeh Okafor as Director General and Charles Anierobi as Chairman of the Council, with others appointed into the council as Directors and members of the different Directorates.
Other members of the council’s directorates include;

Security, Special Duties, and Legal Unit: Simeon Ogude, Barr. Peter Mbanefo, and Barr. Chigozie Onwuanyi.

Admin, finance and Logistics has Osy Ilozue as Director and Benjamin Chukwemeka Deputy Director.

Director, Protocol and Strategic Media: Uloka Chukwubuikem.

Director Operations, Contact and Mobilization: Cletus Obiorah (Akilo).

Inter/Intra Party Matters: Barr. Mbanefo Onuorah and Emeka Agulusia.

Amongst other sub-committees and Directorates.

Inaugurating the campaign council, Ofumelu noted that every one of his supporters, members of the PDP from polling booth, ward, and local government level are all members of the council. Instead, the names above have been selected to represent a few directorates. The lawmaker described the council as high-performing and winning teams who will do all that is necessary to ensure that the election is won.

He called on any aggrieved member of the party or supporters to sheath their sword and join the train wherever they deem themselves fit to deliver results for the interest of the party and the Federal Constituency. Ofumelu assured that his achievements in the first term will remain an edge over his opponents, and being the most qualified will be a factor.

In his acceptance speech, the Chairman of the Council thanked the lawmaker for the trust reposed on him and for finding them worthy to serve in such exalted positions and tasked with the mandate of ensuring his victory at the polls. Chief Anierobi said he would work closely with the Director General and other members of the council to ensure that victory is attained.

He noted that Ofumelu is the easiest to sell amongst other candidates as he has a clean health bill, a performance track record, and other notable antecedents that are lacking in other candidates.

In 2019, we won the election with twenty-six thousand votes. We are hoping to surpass that benchmark in 2023. Anierobi said.

The chairmen of the party who took time each to speak eulogized Ofumelu for being a leader they can trust and a peacemaker. They both noted that the structures of the party in both Oyi and Ayamelum will work closely with the council to ensure victory and a result.

The Director General confirmed that the council’s mandate is effective immediately and that all hands must be on deck to do the task efficiently, and he urged the party and the candidate to work together cohesively with the campaign council.

Vincent Ofumelu Gives Account Of Stewardship To Ayamelum Leaders Of Thought, Seek Their Blessing and Support For 2023.

Yesterday, the lawmaker representing Oyi/Ayamelum Federal Constituency, Hon. Vincent Ekene Ofumelu ESQ, played host to leaders of thought in his immediate Ayamelum Local Government Area to give an account of his first term stewardship and ask for their support to seek re-election.



The meeting, which was well attended by all the traditional rulers of Ayamelum Local Government and other relevant stakeholders, community and religious leaders, amongst other leaders of thought, was convened by the lawmaker in line with his promise to always give an account of service to his employers.



In his remarks, Hon. Ofumelu thanked the leaders of thought for their unwavering support for him in his 2019 election to represent the people of Oyi and Ayamelum at the 9th Assembly and to this day; he said their support and prayers were responsible for his success in the National Assembly's green chambers and he has continued to maintain a good relationship with them.



"My close relationship with you all has also contributed immensely to ensuring that the primary needs of our people in terms of critical infrastructure and empowerment are met."



The lawmaker highlighted numerous of his achievements, which include bills for the establishment of the Federal University of Agriculture in Umerum, the Federal Institute of Vocational Training in Omor, motions for the urgent construction and rehabilitation of Ayamelum Trunk A Roads, which have been receiving the attention of the Federal Government currently, attracting classroom blocks for most government-owned schools in Ayamelum, of which eighty percent have been completed and fully furnished, the renovation of the Anambra-Imo River Basin, facilitating employment and skill acquisition for many Ayamelum sons and daughters, amongst many other projects and human capital development all in Ayamelum.



Ofumelu narrated how his first term has been solely for the purpose of projects and development in the Federal Constituency, which has ranked him as one of the best performing legislators from Anambra State.



According to the lawmaker, what has been accomplished in his first term is only a tip of the iceberg of what is to come if he is re-elected for a second term. Ofumelu noted that his return to the green chambers will see him become a ranking member and in contention for a principal position, which will further benefit the people.



Amongst the speakers who spoke at the event were the traditional rulers of Omasi, Umumbo, the Chairman of the Leaders of Thought and a few others. They all acknowledged the achievements of Vincent Ofumelu and blessed him in his quest to be re-elected.



The climax of the meeting was the presentation of the Sienna utility vehicle and brand new motorcycles to the Central Vigilante Command of Ayamelum Local Government, amongst other items.



The lawmaker assured that his will as a lawmaker is to represent the interests of his people, serve their needs, and ensure that Oyi/Ayamelum is not sidelined at the National Assembly in terms of dividends of democracy.
