We said yes to for an on the go meal while shopping for boarding school things ko .
Omolemo had the popcorn prawn meal and I tried the classic hake and chips. We loved it because FRESH, WELL SEASONED and COOKED WELL!
It’s a takeaway spot at the food court just below the cinema. Check it out if you are in rosebank and don’t have time for a sit down meal 😀😜
Oh and the hake meal is on special every Tuesday! 😉

My sister won , she did it you guys!
There are are just some of the beautiful moments captured by when the village cooks arrived home.
When got the call for , after screaming and losing my mind, I said to her “God won’t put both of us in a cooking competition for both of us to lose. This one is yours!”. AND SO IT WAS!
I have so many stories to tell, but at this hour I’m just super proud of my biggest food influence - she taught me so much of what I know.
My first reference point to what life is meant to be like - even though I’ve messed up this idea a few times 🤣😜
My pillar of everything - I literally call my sister when I stump my toe so not being able to call her when I needed to was hard
I’ve always been her biggest fan - except for the time she hit be with a big photo album over my head and accidentally burned me with a stove iron at my granny’s.
My girl! I can’t wait to see where you take this. Modimo le Badimo ba dumetse!

FATHER! Mini review ☺️
Not only is it an amazing coffee spot but it’s also a cute and peaceful remote work spot in Kramerville/Marlboro area.
There’s a bakery onsite so you can only imagine the homey scents and aromas because COFFEE X FRESH BAKES!
Their breaky and lunch menu are reasonably priced and if you are into coffee, they have a range of coffees you can try out. Coffee not your thing, there’s a bar 😉
I had a bowl of home made Granola over a layer of plain yoghurt and berry compote.
Such a treat! There’s a counter where you can get freshly baked bread, pastries and stuff…
Also aesthetics please, nkare you aren’t in Kramerville for instance.

YOU SHOULD STOP EATING PRAWNS!
A statement that doesn’t sit well with me because I looooove prawns, but it turns out it is an Ecological Nightmare.
Shrimp is either farmed or wild, but neither option is good for the environment.
Farmed shrimp are kept in pools on the coast where the tide can refresh the water and carry WASTE OUT TO SEA. The ponds are prepared with heavy doses of FISH-KILLING chemicals, so Go Figure.
Now, this is just one way of getting Shrimp into those frozen bags we find at our local supermarkets.
I’ll share a link in my stories that tells us more about the damage of catching Shrimp, including this statement from a Yale research paper: “shrimp farming has made certain areas of Bangladesh completely unlivable for people.”
You can also download the SASSI App If you would like to know more facts about how prawns are harvested and make a conscious decision on what seafood to consume.
So as someone that loves Prawns and knows how to impress with them, I will be drastically reducing my intake like my friend , a Marine Scientist who has beeeeen telling me to STOP IT!

Sooo My mama’s first born made her debut yesterday as part of the . Yes, we are a family of cooks, we love to eat as much as we love to cook. is a big part of my “why I cook” story. She’s also my palate’s personal trainer because she’s bolder and more experimental when it comes to flavour.
This cooking competition is right up her alley, she’s the queen of “WE WILL MAKE IT WORK”, whatever the circumstance (Rain, Wind, Or Shine”), it will work out!
Here’s to lots of butt kicking and making it work!

Scone Recipe Alert! I know a lot of us are probably deep within bakes today ☺️
They say sharing is caring so here’s a scone recipe that will pair well with your Ginger Beer/ Gemere! Do save for later ❤️
Ingredients
450g/3C Self Raising Flour
1 tsp Baking powder
100g /1/2C Sugar
125g Butter, super cold
1C Full Cream Plain yoghurt or buttermilk
1 Large egg
1 tap Vanilla essence
Method
- Preheat oven to 200 Deg
- Mix all the dry ingredients together
- Grate (yes with a grater) the cold butter into the dry ingredients
- Use a fork to mix the butter through, be gentle
- Whisk all the wet ingredients together
- Add wet to dry and mix until just combined, do not over mix.
- place mixture on floured surface and use rolling pin to flatten (1cm thickness). Repeat with cut
- Use cookie cutter and place on a greased baking sheet or well greased pan really
- brush the tops with an egg wash
- Bake until golden, for 10 - 12 min
- Transfer to a cooling rack
