Want to know what it feels like to face the power of a world champion? Part of what we wanted to achieve with was to put listeners inside the ring and offer blow-by-blow accounts of fights, from the combatant's perspective. Our best example of this is in our episode that covers the David Light v Brandon Glanton fight. As affecting as the visual medium can be, there is nothing more powerful than the theatre of the mind: I can watch horror movies no problem, but listen to a horror podcast, and I have trouble sleeping! Audio's potential is leading to a new slate of stories and experiences and with it new voices, and the most intimate of perspectives. Fantastic news the debut album from the releases on the 28th of July to all platforms. We've done it a bit tough on a limited budget and with all sorts of crazy delays (Covid etc) but it is now here and with lessons well learned, and a great team behind us, we will head into the next kaupapa with added confidence. The emerging writers, Otara-based writers LIVIAHN SIUMAKA (Niuean) and PIUKALA I LOTO PALESI VEA (Tongan/ Māori) carved up with some super funny gags, and we were blessed by the talents of social media star REGAN ROELL (Niuean/ Tokelauan) (Just the Norms, Niu FM Morning Shack), AARON ‘COACH’ PULEMAGAFA (Samoan) (Niu FM Morning Shack) and COHEN HOLLOWAY (Ngāti Toa) (Hunt of the Wilderpeople), who brought our young writers jokes alive. Tima, the writers were bouncing off the walls knowing some real stars were saying their lines! And a HUGE SHOUT OUT to Paora Mokonui Arangi Anihana for the mean artwork that just puts the icing on the cake my brother. What a gift G-d gave you, my bro 🙏SHOUT OUT to OMAC too for all their support.
We will be selling physical copies so PRE-ORDER NOW and own a piece of NZ COMEDY history and have a direct hand in giving an emerging South Auckland writer a real credit on a fully-fledged production.
